Make sure to transfer your record-ings to an external device such as a computer or digital video recorder(0 116) and save them on a regular basis. This will protect your impor-tant recordings in case of damage and create more free space on thememory. Canon shall not be liable for any data loss.• Do not carry the camcorder by the LCD panel. Be careful when closingthe LCD panel. When using a wrist strap, do not allow the camcorder toswing and hit an object.• Handle the touch screen with care. Do not apply excessive force anddo not use ballpoint pens or other hard-tipped objects other than thestylus pen to operate the touch screen. This may damage the touchscreen’s surface or the pressure-sensitive layer beneath it.• Do not attach protective film on the touch screen. The touch screen’soperation is based on detecting applied pressure, so you may not beable to correctly operate the touch screen with an additional protectivelayer.• Do not leave the camcorder in places subject to high temperatures (likethe inside of a car parked under direct sunlight), or high humidity.• Do not use the camcorder near strong electromagnetic fields such asabove TVs, near plasma TVs or mobile phones.• When using the camcorder, do not place it in narrow, confined places.• Do not point the lens at strong light sources.
