4-6Setting the Image QualityYou can adjust image quality to the appropriate level best suited for a document with text or photos. Three modesare available for adjusting image quality.Adjusting the Copy ExposureYou can adjust the copy exposure automatically or manually according to how light or dark your document is. Adjusting Automatically Adjusting Manually1 Press Image Quality to select the imagequality.Ex:Each time Image Quality is pressed, the imagequality mode changes as follows:– TEXTSuitable for making copies from text originals. Goodcopies can be made from even blueprints or faintpencil-drawn originals.– TEXT/PHOTOSuitable for making copies from originals containingboth text and photos, or photo originals containinghalf-tones (i.e. printed photos).– PHOTOSuitable for making copies from photos printed onphotographic paper.• Copy exposure automatically changes tomanual mode when TEXT/PHOTO orPHOTO is set.• To sharpen the black and white contrast ofan image, adjust the image as follows:Press Additional Functions, thenselectCOPY SETTINGS.Then choose SHARPNESS.
