Symbols are electricalrepresentation only.2. Compressor and fan motorfurnished with inherent thermalprotection.3. To be wired in accordance withNational Electric N.E.C.and local codes.4. N.E.C. class 2, 24V circuit, min.40 VA required, 60 VA on unitsinstalled with LLS.5. Use copper conductors only.Use conductors suitable for atleast 75ºC (167ºF).6. Connection for typical coolingonly thermostat. For otherarrangements see installationinstructions.7. If indoor section has atransformer with a groundedsecondary, connect thegrounded side to the BRN/YELlead.8. When start relay and startcapacitor are installed, startthermistor is not used.9. CH not used on all units.10. If any of the original wire, assupplied must be replaced, use the same or equivalentwire.11. Check all electricalconnections inside controlbox for tightness.12. Do not attempt to operate unituntil service valves havebeen opened.13. Do not rapid cyclecompressor.Compressor must be off 3minutes to allowpressures to equalizebetween high and lowside before starting.* MAY BE FACTORY INSTALLEDLEGENDFACTORY POWER WIRINGFACTORY CONTROL WIRINGFIELD CONTROL WIRINGFIELD POWER WIRINGCOMPONENT CONNECTIONFIELD SPLICEJUNCTIONPLUG RECEPTACLECONTCAP*CH*CHSCOMP*CTD*DTS*HPSIFR*LLS*LPSOFM*SC*SR*STCONTACTORCAPACITOR (DUAL RUN)CRANKCASE HEATERCRANKCASE HEATER SWITCHCOMPRESSORCOMPRESSOR TIME DELAYDISCHARGE TEMP SWITCHHIGH PRESSURE SWITCHINDOOR FAN RELAYLIQ LINE SOLENOID VALVELOW PRESSURE SWITCHOUTDOOR FAN MOTORSTART CAPICATORSTART RELAYSTART THERMISTORCAUTION1. Compressor damage may occur if system isover charged.2. This unit is factory charged with R-410A inaccordance with the amount shown on therating plate. The charge is adequate for mostsystems using matched coils and tubing notover 15 feet long. Check refrigerant chargefor maximum efficiency. See Product DataLiterature for required Indoor air Flow Ratesand for use of line lengths over 15 feet.3. Relieve pressure and recover all refrigerantbefore system repair or final disposal. Use allservice ports and open all flow-control devices, including solenoid valves.4. Never vent refrigerant to atmosphere. Useapproved recovery equipment.SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM (LADDER FORM)L1 *CHEQUIPGND*SR*SCH *STCFCAPOFML25 21*HPS* CTD *LLSIFRINDOOR THERMOSTATYGR CREXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY 24 V+tLOGICT1 T3T2CONTCOMPSC R*CHS*LPSCONT11 21232311 21CONTCONT23 23YEL/ PNKYEL/ PNK BLU/PNKCOOLING ONLYCHARGING PROCEDURE1. Only use sub cooling charging methodwhen OD ambient is greater than 70ºFand less than 100ºF, indoor temp isgreater than 70ºF and less than 80ºF,and line set is less than 80 ft.2. Operate unit a minimum of 15 minutesbefore checking the charge.3. Measure liquid service valve pressureby attaching an accurate gauge to theservice port.4. Measure the liquid line temperature byattaching an accurate thermistor typeor electronic thermometer to the liquidline near the outdoor coil.5. Refer to unit rating plate for requiredsubcooling temperature.6. Find the point where the required sub-cooling temperature intersects themeasured liquid service valve pressure.7. To obtain the required subcoolingtemperature at specific liquid linepressure, add refrigerant if liquid linetemperature is higher than indicated. When adding refrigerant, charge inliquid form using a flow restrictingdevice into suction service port.Recover refrigerant if temperature islower. Allow a tolerance of +/- 3ºF.REQUIRED LIQUID LINE TEMPERATURERequired SubcoolingTemperature (ºF)Liquid Pressureat ServiceValve (psig) 6 8 10 12 14 1625125926627428329129930831732633534535436437476 74 72 70 6878 76 74 72 7080 78 76 74 7282 80 78 76 7484 82 80 78 7686 84 82 80 7888 86 84 82 8090 88 86 84 8292 90 88 86 8494 92 90 88 8696 94 92 90 8898 96 94 92 90100 98 96 94 92102 100 98 96 94104 102 100 98 96384395406416427439450462474106 104 102 100 98108 106 104 102 100110 108 106 104 102112 110 108 106 104114 112 110 108 106116 114 112 110 108118 116 114 112 110120 118 116 114 112122 120 118 116 1147880828486889092949698100102104106108110112114116118120122124Fig. 1 – Wiring Diagram — Model sizes 1--1/2 -- 5 tons, 208/230--1 |
