155REPLACING TRANSDUCER — The pressure transducershould be mounted on an access fitting with a Schrader valve.Use caution when removing the transducer. Use a back-upwrench to secure the fitting while removing and installing thepressure transducer. Be sure to loop cable and secure with awire tie to create a strain relief as shown in Fig. 48 on page 40.Temperature Relief Devices — All units have tem-perature relief devices to protect against damage from exces-sive pressures caused by extreme high temperatures (i.e., fire). These devices protect the high and low side and are installed inthe liquid line between the condenser coils and the liquid lineservice valve.Thermistors — Several styles of thermistors are used inthe 38AP units. See Thermistors on page 28 for specific infor-mation on each thermistor. Thermistor connections are madeto both the MBB and AUX Board. See Fig. 184 and 185.MBBJ8A38-7331Fig. 183 — Typical 38AP Pressure TransducerWiringWARNINGCare should be exercised while removing any device, pres-sure sensing device or cap from an access fitting. Refriger-ant system is under pressure. Be sure to use proper personalprotection equipment to guard against accidental exposureto refrigerant.MBBJ8A38-7332Fig. 184 — Typical Main Base Board (MBB) Thermistor ConnectionsAUXJ6 a38-7333Fig. 185 — Typical AUX Board (AUX) Thermistor Connections (Digital Compressor Option Only)
