Ensure that this is outof reach for children.• All of the manufacturing and packaging materials used foryour new appliance are compatible with the environment andcan be recycled.• Keep this installation manual safe and hand it over to the newowner in case of sale.Unit installation• Check that voltage and frequency of the mains power supply arethose required for the unit to be installed; the available power mustbe adequate to operate any other possible appliances connectedto the same line.• Check that all current national safety code requirements havebeen followed for the installation.In particular ensure that a properly sized and connectedground wire is in place.• Inspect equipment for damage due to improper transportation orhandling: file an immediate claim with the shipping company.• To work correctly, the air conditioner must operate only withinthe temperature indicated in the “Operating limits” table shownin this manual.If the unit is made to operate beyond the limits cited above,malfunctioning or water leaks may occur.• Failure to observe electrical safety codes may cause a fire hazardin case of short circuits.• The manufacturer declines all responsibility in the case ofmodifications and electrical or hydraulic connection errors causedby a failure to observe the instructions shown in this installationmanual or in the case of operation in conditions different to thosefor which the unit was designed.In these cases the guarantee is no longer valid.General informationIMPORTANT :The electric heater must always be factory installed(mod. 42WHE).The use of other electric heaters is absolutely prohibited.Failure to follow this safety requirement causes unitdamage and voids the warranty.The unit is fitted with a manually reset thermostat (mod. 42WHE).It is therefore essential to install the unit in such a way as toguarantee accessibility to the thermostat.Choosing the installation sitePositions to avoid:• Exposed to direct sun.• Too close to heat sources.• On humid walls or positions with water hazard, e.g. laundrypremises.• Where curtains or furniture may obstruct free air circulation.Recommendations:• Choose an area free from obstructions which may causeirregular air distribution and/or return.• Check that the wall surface is flat enough to allow easy and safeinstallation. The wall structure should be strong enough to carrythe unit weight and avoid deformation, rupture or vibration duringoperation.• Consider using an area where installation is easy.• Choose a position that allows for the clearances required (seedrawing).• Look for a position in the room which assures the best possibleair distribution.• Install unit in a position where condensate can easily be piped toan appropriate drain.
