This tube is plugged to prevent condensate leakage in thisapplication. Ensure this tube is plugged.NOTE: See Fig. 6 or 7 or tube routing label on main furnacedoor to check for proper connections.Upper Inducer Housing Drain ConnectionAttached to the UPPER (unused) inducer housing drainconnection is a cap and clamp. This cap is used to preventcondensate leakage in this application. Ensure this connectionis capped.NOTE: See Fig. 6 or 7 or tube routing label on main furnacedoor to check for proper connections.CONDENSATE TRAP FREEZE PROTECTIONRefer to Condensate Drain Protection section forrecommendations and procedures.Step 3—Downflow ApplicationsA downflow furnace application is where furnace blower islocated above combustion and controls section of furnace, andconditioned air is discharged downwards.CONDENSATE TRAP LOCATIONThe condensate trap must be removed from the factory-installedblower shelf location and relocated in selected applicationlocation as shown in Fig. 2, 8, or 9.
