NOTE: (Direct Vent/2-Pipe ONLY) vent pipe system has thesame diameter and same length as combustion air pipe as men-tioned in section ″Assembly of Combustion Air Pipe (DirectVent/2-Pipe system ONLY).″NOTE: Do not count elbows or pipe sections in terminations orwithin furnace (all elbows shown in Fig. 44 and Fig. 45 are not becounted).2. Determine location of vent pipe connection to inducer housingas shown in Fig. 38 for application.3. Install vent pipe grommet (factory-supplied in loose parts bag)into selected furnace casing vent pipe hole. (See Fig. 44.)4. Reposition elastomeric (rubber) inducer housing outlet capand clamp to appropriate unused inducer housing connection.Tighten clamp.UNIT DAMAGE HAZARDFailure to follow this caution may result in unit componentdamage.Inducer housing outlet cap must be installed and fully seatedagainst inducer housing. Clamp must be tightened to preventany condensate leakage.5. Be certain that mating surfaces of inducer housing connectionelastomeric (rubber) coupling, and 2-in. diameter vent pipe areclean and dry. Assemble the elastomeric (rubber) vent cou-pling (with 2 loose clamps) onto inducer housing connection.Insert the 2-in. diameter vent pipe through the elastomeric(rubber) coupling and fully into inducer housing connectionuntil it touches a stop inside the inducer housing outlet.Tighten the screws on both clamps to 15-in-lb. of torque. pipeto inducer housing. Tighten the clamp screws to 15 in.-lb. oftorque.NOTE: Starting at furnace, slope vent pipe a minimum of 1/4-in.per linear ft with no sags between hangers.Fig. 38—Combustion-Air and Vent PipeConnectionsA05092COMBUSTION-AIRCOMBUSTION-AIRAIRFLOWVENTVENTVENTAIRFLOWAIRFLOWAIRFLOWUPFLOW DOWNFLOWHORIZONTAL-LEFT DISCHARGE HORIZONTAL-RIGHT DISCHARGESelect 1 vent pipe connection and1 combustion-air pipe connection.COMBUSTION-AIRCOMBUSTION-AIRCOMBUSTION-AIRCOMBUSTION-AIRVENTVENTVENTNOTE: Select 1 vent pipe connection and1 combustion-air pipe connection.NOTE:* For Non-Direct Vent (1-Pipe) system, orient elbow so that itsopening faces down.** For Non-Direct Vent (1-Pipe) system, orient elbow so that itsopening faces sideways.† An external trap kit (see furnace product data sheet) must be used.******††Table 11A—Furnace Setup Switch DescriptionSETUPSWITCHNO.SWITCHNAMENORMALPOSITIONDESCRIPTIONOFUSESW-1AdaptiveHeatModeOFFWhen off, allows 2-stage operation with asingle-stage thermostat.Turn on when using 2-stagethermostat to allow Low Heatoperation when R to W/W1 closesand High Heat operation whenR to W/W1 and W2 close.SW-2BlowerOFFdelayON or OFFControl blower OFFdelay time.
