4. With furnace operating, set thermostat below room tempera-ture and observe that furnace goes off. Set thermostat aboveroom temperature and observe that furnace restarts.ADJUSTMENTS1. Set gas input rate. The gas input rate must be set for both high fire and low fire. Each adjustment is made independently at the gas controlregulators. There are 2 methods of adjusting the gas input rate. Thepreferred method is by using Table 8 and following instruc-tions in item a. The second method is by clocking the gasmeter and following instructions in item b.The procedure in item b. MUST be used for altitudes above2000 ft.The gas valve regulator has been nominally set at 1.5-in. wcfor low fire and 3.5-in. wc for high fire for natural gas.a. Check gas input rate using Table 8.(1.) Obtain average yearly heat value for local gas supply.(2.) Obtain average yearly specific gravity for local gassupply.(3.) Verify furnace model. Table 8 can only be used formodel 58TUA Furnaces.(4.) Check and verify orifice size in furnace. NEVERASSUME THE ORIFICE SIZE. ALWAYS CHECKAND VERIFY.(5.) Find natural gas heat value and specific gravity inTable 8.(6.) Follow heat value and specific gravity lines to point ofintersection. Find orifice size and manifold pressuresettings for proper operation at given natural gasconditions on low and high fire.Fig. 12—Unit Wiring DiagramA94232FUSED DISCONNECTSWITCH (WHEN REQ'D)NOTE #1JBWHTBLKGRNGRNFU2COMPONENT TESTTo initiate the component test sequence with no thermostat inputs and with all inducer Post-Purge andBlower-Off Delay periods completed, short the 'TWIN/TEST' terminal to the 'COM' terminal for about twoseconds.
