40Unit Start-Up with WSHP Open ControlsThe WSHP Open is a multi-protocol (default BACnet*) con-troller with extensive features, flexible options and powerfulcapabilities. The unit comes from the factory pre-programmedand needs minimal set up to function in a BAS (Building Auto-mation System) system or provide additional capabilities toCarrier's WSHP product line. Most settings on the controllerhave factory defaults set for ease of installation. There are afew settings that must be configured in the field and several set-tings that can be adjusted if required by unique job conditions.Refer to Appendix A — WSHP Open Screen Configuration. Inorder to configure the unit, a BACview6 display is required. SeeFig. 35.NOTE: If the WSHP Open control has lost its programming,all display pixels will be displayed on the SPT sensor. See theWSHP Third Party Integration Guide.When the unit is OFF, the SPT sensor will indicate OFF.When power is applied, the SPT sensor will indicate tempera-ture in the space at 78 F.To start-up a unit with WSHP Open controls:1. To plug in the BACview6 handheld display into a SPTsensor, point the two ears on the connector up and tilt thebottom of the plug toward you. Insert the plug up into theSPT sensor while pushing the bottom of the plug awayfrom you.2. BACview6 should respond with "Establishing Connec-tion." The Home screen will then appear on the displayshowing operating mode and space temperature. Pressany button to continue.See Appendix A — WSHP Open Screen Configurationfor the hierarchal structure of the WSHP Open controller.All functions of the controller can be set from the Homescreen.3. When the Login is requested, type 1111 and push the OKsoftkey. The Logout will then be displayed to indicate thepassword was accepted.4. To set the Clock if it is not already displayed:a. Select System Settings from the Home screen, thenpress Clockset.b. Scroll to hour, minute and second using the arrowkeys. Use the number keypad to set actual time.c. Scroll to day, month and year using arrow keys.Use number keypad to set date.5. To set Daylight Savings Time (DST):a. Push the DST softkey. The display will indicate02:00:060 which is equal to 2:00AM.b. To program the beginning and end dates, scrolldown to the beginning month and press the enterkey. The softkeys (INCR and DECR) will activateto increment the month in either direction, Jan,Feb, March, etc.c. Use number keys to select the day of month andyear.d. Push the OK softkey to finalize the data.6. To view configuration settings:a. Select the Config softkey.b. Select the Service Config softkey. Scroll throughthe factory settings by using the up and downarrow keys. See below for factory settings.Only the following settings will need to bechecked.• # of Fan Speeds — This should be set to "1" forunits with PSC motors and set to "3" for units withECM motors.• Compressor Stages — This should be set to "1."• Factory Dehumidification Reheat Coil — Thisshould be set to "none" unless the modulating hotwater reheat option is supplied in the unit, then setto "installed."• The condenser water limit needs to be verifieddepending on design parameters and application,whether geothermal or boiler/tower.7. To view unit configuration settings:a. Select the Unit Configuration softkey, then selectUnit.b. Scroll through the unit settings by using the up anddown arrow keys. Unit settings include:• Fan Mode: Default Continuous• Fan Delay:• Minimum SAT Cooling: Default 50 F• Maximum SAT Heating: Default 110 F• Filter Service Alarm: Must be set from 0 to 9999 hr8. To set local schedules:a. Select the Schedule softkey from the Configurationscreen, then press enter.b. Select Weekly, then press enter (7 schedulesavailable).c. Select day and press enter.d. Press enter again and select ADD or DEL (DECRor INCR) set schedule.e.
