553. SafetyThe 30 AJ air conditioning units are designed to offer asafe and reliable operation, when operated according tothe project specifications. Undoubtedly, due to the systempressure, electric components and the movement of theunit, some installation, start-up and maintenance aspectsof the unit shall be observed.Only certified Carrier installers shall install, start-up andmaintain this equipment. When working on the unit,observe all the warning tags placed on the unit, and followall the applicable safety regulations, wearing protectiveapparel and equipment.5. Installation5.1 Receiving and inspecting the unita) It confers the unit for the forma bill of sale ofremittance.Carefully check and inspect the unitconcerning eventual damages caused bytransportation. In case of damages immediately file aclaim to the shipping company and to Carrier.b) Check if the location power supply conforms to theelectrical characteristics of the equipment, specifiedon the unit nameplate.c) To keep the warranty, do not let the unit exposedto bad weather or to accidents providing itsimmediate transportation to the installation site or toany other safe location.Observe all the warningtags placed on the unit, and follow all the applicablesafety regulations, wearing protective appareland equipment.4. TransportationTo move and transport the unit follow the directions below:a) To lift the units, use brackets as indicated on picture 1.b) Prevent ropes, chains or other devices fromtouching the unit.c) Do not tilt the unit while moving it, nor bend it morethan 15° from the vertical position.WARNINGIMPORTANTWARNINGWARNINGDisconnect the power supply before maintainingand repairing the unit. It is possible that electricdischarges occur, which might cause personalinjury in case these safety precautions arenot observed.To prevent damages to the unit during transportation,do not remove the unit from its packaging untilpositioning it at the definitive site. Suspend andcarefully deposits the equipment in the floor.Never put your hands inside the unit while the fanis in operation.Turn off the power supply beforeworking on the unit.Remove the fuses and takethem with you to prevent accidents. This precaution is necessarybecause when the high temperature metallic chip fallsover the painting, it can get fixed over the painting andthis condition is visually similar to low quality paintingprocess and corrosion issue but it is actually a dirtimpregnation issue.To avoid the contact between painting and dust, dirtor metallic chips, it’s also recommended to clean theentire product after finished any kind of installationnear to it.
