Only trained and qualified service personnelshould install, repair, or service air-conditioning equipment.Untrained personnel can perform the basic maintenance func-tions. All other operations should be performed by trained servicepersonnel. When working on air-conditioning equipment, ob-serve precautions in the literature and on tags, stickers, and labelsattached to the unit, and other safety precautions that may apply.• Follow all safety codes.• Wear safety glasses and work gloves.• Utilize Lockout/Tagout procedures.• Use care in handling and installing this accessory.Recognize safety information. This is the safety-alert sym-bol . When you see this symbol on the unit and in instruc-tions or manuals, be alert to the potential for personal injury.Understand the signal words DANGER, WARNING, andCAUTION. NOTE is usedto highlight suggestions which will result in enhanced installa-tion, reliability, or operation.INTRODUCTIONThe condensate overflow switch accessory kit includes anelectronic controller and sensor for use in 3-15 ton light com-mercial rooftop units. The sensor can be used in downflow orside discharge units. The control module is wired to turn off thecompressor(s) after 10 seconds of constant water contact if thedrain trap becomes plugged. It requires 5 minutes to reset afterthe water has cleared. See Table 1 for control logic.PRE-INSTALLATIONRemove accessory packaging and inspect shipment fordamage. See Table 2 for kit contents. File claim with shippingcompany if accessory is damaged. Verify unit is level and ad-just if necessary. See Table 3 for model usage.With all Carrier direct digital controls (DDC) such as RTUOpen, PremierLink™, ComfortLink, and SystemVu™ con-trols, no alarms or alerts will be initiated based on this conden-sate overflow switch.
