18Adjusting the Contrast — The contrast of the display can beadjusted to suit ambient conditions. To adjust the contrast ofthe Navigator module, press the key until the dis-play reads, “Select a menu item.” Using the arrow keys moveto the Configuration mode. Press to obtain access tothis mode. The display will read:> TEST OFFMETR OFFLANG ENGLISHPressing will cause the “OFF” to flash. Use the upor down arrow to change “OFF” to “ON”. Pressingwill illuminate all LEDs and display all pixels in the viewscreen. Pressing and simultaneouslyallows the user to adjust the display contrast. Use the up ordown arrows to adjust the contrast. The screen’s contrast willchange with the adjustment. Press to accept thechange. The Navigator module will keep this setting as long asit is plugged in to the LEN bus.Adjusting the Backlight Brightness — The backlight of thedisplay can be adjusted to suit ambient conditions. The factorydefault is set to the highest level. To adjust the backlight of theNavigator module, press the key until the displayreads, “Select a menu item.” Using the arrow keys move to theConfiguration mode. Press to obtain access to thismode. The display will read:> TEST OFFMETR OFFLANG ENGLISHPressing will cause the “OFF” to flash. Use the upor down arrow keys to change “OFF” to “ON”. Pressingwill illuminate all LEDs and display all pixels in theview screen. Pressing the up and down arrow keys simultane-ously allows the user to adjust the display brightness. Use theup or down arrow keys to adjust screen brightness. Pressto accept the change. The Navigator module willkeep this setting as long as it is plugged in to the LEN bus.Main Base Board (MBB) — See Fig. 20. The MBB isthe heart of the ComfortLink control system. It contains themajor portion of operating software and controls the operationof the machine. The MBB continuously monitors input/outputchannel information received from its inputs and from all othermodules. The MBB receives inputs from the discharge andsuction pressure transducers, current sensor boards (CSB) andthermistors. See Table 3. The MBB also receives the discreteinputs from the thermostat contacts and other status switches.See Table 4. The MBB also controls several outputs. Informa-tion is transmitted between modules via a 3-wire communica-tion bus or LEN (Local Equipment Network). The CCN (Car-rier Comfort Network®) bus is also supported. Connections toboth LEN and CCN buses are made at the LVT (low voltageterminal) terminal strip.Current Sensor Board (CSB) — The CSB is used tomonitor the status of the compressors by measuring current andproviding an analog input to the main base board (MBB) orcompressor expansion module (CXB).Energy Management Module (EMM) — The EMMmodule is available as a factory-installed option or as a field-installed accessory. The EMM module receives 4 to 20 mAinputs for the percent capacity, temperature reset, cooling setpoint, and demand limit functions. The EMM module also re-ceives the switch inputs for the field-installed 2-stage demandlimit and when two thermostats are used for one unit. TheEMM module communicates the status of all inputs with theMBB, and the MBB adjusts the control point, capacity limit, and other functions according to the inputs received.Table 2 — Scrolling Marquee Display Menu Structure*LEGEND*Throughout this text, the location of items in the menu structure will be described inthe following format:Item Expansion (Mode Name Sub-mode Name ITEM)ESCAPEENTERENTERENTERENTER ESCAPEENTERESCAPEENTERENTERENTERENTERMODE RUNSTATUSSERVICETEST TEMPERATURES PRESSURES SETPOINTS INPUTS OUTPUTS CONFIGURATION TIMECLOCKOPERATINGMODES ALARMSSUB-MODEAutoDisplay(VIEW)ManualModeOn/Off(TEST)UnitTemperatures(UNIT)Ckt APressures(PRC.A)Cooling(COOL)UnitDiscrete(GEN.I)UnitDiscrete(GEN.O)Display(DISP)Unit Time(TIME)Modes(MODE)Current(CRNT)MachineHours/Starts(RUN)UnitOutputs(OUTS)Ckt ATemperatures(CIR.A)Ckt BPressures(PRC.B)HeadPressure(HEAD)Ckt A/B(CRCT)Ckt A(CIR.A)Unit Configuration(UNIT)Unit Date(DATE)Task State(TSKS)ResetAlarms(RCRN)CompressorRun Hours(HOUR)Ckt A CompTests(CMPA)Ckt BTemperatures(CIR.B)UnitAnalog(4-20)Ckt B(CIR.B)CCN Network(CCN)DaylightSavingTime(DST)AlarmHistory(HIST)CompressorStarts(STRT)Ckt B CompTests(CMPB)Options 1(OPT1)LocalHolidaySchedules(HOL.L)PreventiveMaintenance(PM)Options 2(OPT2)ScheduleNumber(SCH.N)SoftwareVersion(VERS)Motormaster(M.MST)LocalScheduleNumber(SCH.L)Reset CoolTemperature(RSET)ScheduleOveride(OVR)Set Point Select(SLCT)ServiceConfiguration(SERV)BroadcastConfiguration(BCST)Ckt — Circuit
