50YEW Water-To-Water Design FeaturesThe 50YEW series is unlike any other water-to-water heat pump onthe market today. The large operating map of the scroll compressorallows high temperature operation, up to 145°F [63°C] leavingload water temperature even at 32°F [0°C] entering source watertemperature. The combination of a coaxial (tube-in-tube) heatexchanger for the source (ground loop) side and a brazed plateheat exchanger for the load (heating/hot water) side provides veryhigh efficiencies. Integral controls for hydronic heating and domesticwater heating avoid the need for external microprocessor-basedcontrols for outdoor temperature reset, warm weather shutdown,staging and other controls.The 50YEW has an extended range refrigeration circuit, capable ofground loop (geothermal) applications as well as open loop (wellwater) applications. Standard features and factory-installed optionsare many. Unique application-specific controls make the 50YEWseries ideal for hydronic heating and domestic hot water generation.The heating-only refrigeration circuit is optimized for high watertemperatures, heating efficiencies, and capacities.The dual level compressor isolation mounting system, insulatedcompressor enclosure, and compressor discharge muffler makethe 50YEW series one of the quietest water-to-water heat pumpsavailable.
