Using Built-in Songs to Master Keyboard PlayE-30The following are the messages that appear on the displayduring Step Lessons.First, select the song, phrase, and part you want to practice.1. Select the song you want to practice (pageE-26).This will select the first phrase of the song.2. Press cl (or 9) to move forward one phrase, or8 to move back one phrase.• Holding down 9 or 8 scrolls through phrases at highspeed.• The Digital Keyboard remembers the last phrase youpracticed for up to 20 songs. To recall the last practicephrase for the current song (if it is available), hold downcl.3. Press bm to select the part you want to practice.Each press of bm cycles through the settings shownbelow.4. Hold down bq for about two seconds.The same tone used for song playback will be assigned tothe keyboard (page E-28).Messages that Appear during LessonsMessage Description Appears when you select a phrase, when alesson starts, etc.• Note that certain phrases will cause “Wait”to appear instead of “Phrase”. Appears when the lesson starts with an introor fill-in phrase that is not included in thephrases to be practiced. Play toll advanceautomatically to the next phrase after the un-included phrase plays, so wait until then tostart playing on the keyboard.NextPhrs Appears when advancing automatically to thenext phrase. This message appears followinga phrase for which “Wait” (see above) isdisplayed, and during an Auto Step Up Lesson(page E-34).From top This message appears during Auto Step UpLesson (page E-34) immediately beforepractice from Phrase 1 up until the phrasecurrently being practiced.Complete Appears at the end of Auto Step Up Lesson(page E-34).Selecting the Song, Phrase, andPart You Want to Practice< P h r a s e >Phrase numberFirst measure of the selected phraseRight hand practiceLeft hand practiceBoth hand practice** This indicator (setting) is skipped if you press bm whilea lesson is in progress.
