!10INSTALLATION GUIDE Make Non-Removable: Allows the user to set the ORB drive as afixed drive.Scan Devices:Performs a full system scan for ORB Drivesand identifies each drive’s system interface.1.8 MAC DRIVER AND SOFTWARE INSTALLATIONThe ORB SCSI driver has to be installed before Mac OS is able to mount your ORBSCSI Drive. This will also install ORB Tools for Mac on your system.Close all open applications and disable virus protection beforeproceeding further.1. Insert the ORB Installation CD into your CD-ROM drive.2. Launch the installation by doing the following:• double-click on the CD-ROM icon• double-click on the MAC folder• double-click on the file called ORB Tools Installer.3. To install your ORB SCSI driver, follow the instructions displayed.4. After the driver installation is completed, your ORB SCSI Driveshould appear as an ORB Drive icon on the desktop.5. If the ORB disk is PC formatted, you can re-format it to Mac formatthrough the OS or ORB Tools for Macintosh.PROBLEM! If you can not see or access your ORB SCSI Drive,refer to Section 3, Troubleshooting.Congratulations! Your ORB Drive is ready to use.1.9 ORB TOOLS FOR MACORB Tools for Mac is a suite of utilities included on the ORB Installation Suite CDsupplied with your new ORB Drive that expand its functionality. |
