CATLER RECOMMENDS SAFETY FIRSTWe at Catler are very safety conscious. We design and manufacture consumer products with the safety of you, our valued customer, foremost in mind. Inaddition, we ask that you exercise a degree of care when using any electrical appliance and adhere to the following precautions:IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS FOR YOUR TS 4011 TOASTER4 CATLER RECOMMENDS SAFETY FIRST• This appliance is not intended for use bypersons (including children) with reducedphysical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lackof experience and knowledge, unless theyhave been given supervision or instructionconcerning use of the appliance by a personresponsible for their safety.• Children should be supervised to ensure thatthey do not play with the appliance.• Carefully read all instructions before operatingand save for future reference.• Remove and safely discard any packagingmaterial or promotional labels before usingthe toaster for the first time.• Do not place the toaster near the edge of a table,counter or bench top during operation. Ensurethe surface is level, clean and free of water.• Do not place the toaster on or near a hot gasor electric burner, or where it could touch aheated oven.• Do not place anything on the toaster andkeep it clear of walls and other heat sensitivematerials such as cloths and curtains. Provideadequate space for air circulation on all sidesof the appliance.• In terms of fire safety, toaster applies to thestandards in the European Union. In themeaning of these standards, a toaster isconsidered as an appliance which can beoperated on the table or similar surface ifsafety distance from flammable materials ofmin 500 mm is maintained in the radiationdirection and in other directions min. 100 mm.• Do not use the toaster on sink drain board.• Always ensure the toaster is properlyassembled before use. Follow theinstructions provided in this book.• The appliance is not intended to beoperated by means of an external timer orseparate remote control system.• Do not use a toaster to heat a room!• Do not turn a toaster on in advance as itheats immediately!• Toaster is portable and is provided withportable power cord which providesdouble-pole disconnection from the mains.• In case of use an extension cable it is necessaryto ensure the extension cable is not damagedand it should apply to valid standards.• Bread may burn, therefore this toastermust not be used near or below curtains orother combustible material and it must besupervised at all times when in use.• Ensure that bread to be toasted is thecorrect size for the toaster and does notprotrude above the bread slice opening.Ensure the bread is not too thick or long thatit will jam or wedge the bread carriage.• Do not place to toaster or on the toastersugary or buttered bakery as it tends to meltand flow.• Do not toast bread or pastry wrapped, e.g. inaluminium foil, paper, etc.• Never cover toasting slots and never insertyour fingers or metal tools in the slots! Donot place any object on the toaster.• Do not place toaster directly on top oftoasting slots to warm toast as this mayprevent correct air circulation and damagethe appliance.• Do not move the toaster whilst in operationor when hot. When operating, use a toasternot to hurt yourself (e.g. burnings).• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use side areas forlifting and carrying the appliance.• Do not leave the toaster unattended whentoasting.• In case of fire caused for example by burningfood, turn off the toaster immediately anddisconnect from the mains.• Always turn the power off at the poweroutlet and then remove the plug from thepower outlet before attempting to move theappliance, when the appliance is not in useand before cleaning or storing.• Do not allow breadcrumbs to accumulatein the bottom of the toaster. Failure to cleanthe crumb tray regularly may result in a fi rehazard.• Do not clean with metal scouring pads.Pieces can break off the pad and touchelectrical parts creating an electric shockhazard.• Keep the appliance clean. Follow thecleaning instructions provided in this book. |
