14 CARE AND CLEANINGCARE AND CLEANINGMAKE SURE THE APPLIANCE IS SWITCHEDOFF AND UNPLUGGED FROM THEPOWER OUTLET, MOTOR AND BLADESHAVE COMPLETELY STOPPED BEFOREATTEMPTING TO MOVE THE APPLIANCE,OR WHEN THE BLENDER IS NOT IN USEAND BEFORE DISASSEMBLING, CLEANINGAND STORING.Tumbler cups and lidsTo keep your cups and lids clean, avoidallowing food residue to dry on them. Followthese steps as soon as possible after use:• Rinse most of the residue off the blades,cup and lid.• Hand wash in warm, soapy water usinga mild liquid detergent and non-abrasivesponge.Motor baseTo clean the motor base, wipe with a soft,damp cloth then dry thoroughly. Wipe anyexcess food particles from the power cord.Cleaning agentsDo not use abrasive scouring pads orcleansers on either the motor base or thecups, as they may scratch the surface. Useonly warm soap water with a soft cloth.PressurisationThe cups may be rinsed by adding coldwater, attaching blades, and either blendingor shaking by hand for 10 seconds.IMPORTANT: There is a risk of pressurisationfrom hot water and/or detergent. Whenrinsing by attaching blades and blending/shaking, never add hot or even warm water,as the steam produced can create dangerouspressurisation of steam.Do not add detergent, as the foam producedwill expand and may cause pressurisation.DishwasherThe cups, lids and blade assembly may bewashed in the dishwasher on the top shelfonly.Stubborn food stains and odoursStrong smelling foods such cumin andcoriander, and some vegetables such ascarrots may leave an odour or stain theblades, cup or lid.To remove, pour warm soapy water andfi ll to the MAX mark. Set aside to soak for5 minutes. Then wash with a mild detergentand warm water, rinse well and drythoroughly. Store cups with lids off.CitrusExposure to citrus oil may affect the clarityand longevity of the Tritan cups. Afterwashing in detergent, rinse with plain waterthoroughly, and allow to dry immediately. Donot soak if citrus has been blended.StorageStore upright with the cups and bladesassembled and resting on the motor base,or beside it. The ▼ symbol on the bladeassembly must be lined with the ▲ symbolon the motor unit, i.e. freely placed onthe motor unit, as this means the motor isengaged and will turn on immediately whenplugged in or switched on at the wall. In nocased the ▼ symbol should be lined with„LIQUIFY“.WARNINGThe blades are verysharp. Pay higherattention whenhandling. Keep theblender away fromchildren.
