3RIGGING SYSTEMWarningThis manual offers all the necessaryinformation for flying DAS Audio systems. To any operations related to flying asystem, read the present document firstand act on the warnings and advicegiven. The goal is to allow the user tobecome familiar with the mechanicalelements required to fly the acousticsystem, as well as the safety measures tobe taken during set-up and teardown.Only experienced installers withadequate knowledge of the equipmentand local safety regulations should flyspeaker boxes. It is the user´sresponsibility to ensure that the systemsto be flown (including flying accessories)comply with state and local regulations. The working load limits in this manualare the results of tests by independentlaboratories. It is the user´s responsibilityto follow and comply with safety factors, resistance values, periodical supervisionsand warnings given in this manual.Product improvement by means ofresearch and development is on going atDAS Audio Specifications are subject tochange without notice. It is common practice to apply 5:1safety factors for enclosures and staticelements. For slings and elementsexposed to material fatigue due to frictionand load variation the following ratiosmust be met; 5:1 for steel clable slings;4:1 for steel chain slings and 7:1 forpolyester slings. Thus, an element with abreaking load limit of 1000 kg may bestatically loaded with 200 kg (5:1 safetyfactor) and dynamically loaded with 142kg (7:1 safety factor). When a system is flying, the workingload must be lower than the resistance ofeach individual flying point in theenclosure, as well as each box. Hanginghardware should be regularly inspectedand suspect units replaced if in doubt. This is important to avoid injury andabsolutely no risks should be taken in thisrespect. It is highly recommended thatyou implement an inspection andmaintenance program on flying elements, including reports to be filled out by thepersonnel that will carry out theinspections. Local regulations may existthat, in case of accident, may require youto prevent evidence of inspection reportsand corrective actions after defects werefound.Absolutely no risks should betaken with regards to public safety. When flying enclosures from ceilingsupport structures, extreme care shouldbe taken to assure the load bearingcapabilities of the structures so that theinstallation is absolutely safe. Do not flyenclosures from unsafe structures.Consult a certified professional if needed. All flying accessories that are notsupplied by DAS Audio are the user´sresponsibility.
