288.1 GeneralityThe grid's firebox and the fumes pipes of the generator must be periodically cleared fromsolid fuel residues (ash).The maintenance of fumes pipes cleared by ash guarantees draught efficiency and,therefore, greater yield of the heat generator. Tab. 8.2 lists the cleaning operations inchronological order.ATTENTION!!BEFORE CLEANING, DISCONNECT THE ELECTRIC ENERGYFROM THE GENERATOR BY INTERVENING ON THE MAIN SWITCHAND ENSURE THAT THE RESIDUE FUEL INSIDE THE FIREBOX ISOFF AND HAS COOLED DOWNCLEANING THE GRIDOPERATION: removal of ashes or deposits from the grid's firebars surfaces.PERIODICITY: 7 / 15 daysNOTES: Remove the individual firebars from the clamping bars where they are housed, makingsure to start from the upper row downwards, if required.REFERENCE: fig.8.2CLEANING THE UNDER-GRILL COMPARTMENTOPERATION(1): checking and cleaning of the ashes below the grid's housing compartment, ac-cessible from the lower lids "A".
