3Electrical RequirementsWARNINGTo prevent an electric shock hazard, the power supplymust meet the specifications stated below. It is the own-er’s responsibility to make sure that the electrical servicemeets electrical requirements and that the electrical outlethas been properly installed by a licensed electrician.• The cooktop is supplied with a factory installed,40-inch, three-prong, grounding electrical cord. It isconnected to the chassis at the bottom right rear corner(see Chassis Bottom Diagrams below). It must beconnected to a dedicated, grounded three-prong elec-trical outlet installed by a licensed electrician.• The electrical installation, including minimum supplywire size and grounding, must be done in accordancewith National Electric Code ANSI/NFPA 70* and localcodes and ordinances. A copy of this standard may beobtained from:National Fire Protection Association1 Batterymarch ParkQuincy, MA 02269-9101• The correct voltage, frequency, and amperage must besupplied to the electrical outlet according to the productdata label located on the bottom of the chassis. Seethe Gas and Electrical Requirements table on thispage for reference.• Be certain to locate the electrical outlet so that thepower cord may be easily disconnected if the unitneeds service.Gas Supply Requirements• Be certain that the cooktop being installed is correctfor the gas service being provided (Natural Gas or LPgas). Also, if using the cooktop at an altitude above4000 ft. (1219 m) make sure it is equipped for high alti-tude (“H”) operation.• Units equipped for high altitude operation have an “H”at the end of the model number listed on the productdata label.• Units equipped for LP operation have “LP” in themodel number listed on the product data label. See theProduct Data Label section for label location.• Check your local building codes for the proper methodof installation. In the absence of local codes, thisappliance should be installed in accordance with theNational Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54.• An external manual shut-off valve must be installedbetween the gas supply line and the cooktop for thepurpose of turning on or shutting off gas to the appli-ance.• The cooktop is shipped from the factory with a regula-tor in the carton. Use only the regulator provided. Theregulator must be installed between the gas inlet on thecooktop and the gas shut-off valve.• The regulator inlet accommodates a 3/4” gas line. Thecooktop inlet itself is equipped with a 3/4” male NPT fit-ting.See the DYCT304G and DYCT365G images on the left.DYCT304G/NGDYCT365G/NGDYCT304G/LPDYCT365G/LPGas Type Natural Gas LP GasManifoldPressure5-inch Watercolumn10-inch WatercolumnMin.
