Page 9-23S ECTION 9 - COMPONENT REPAIRBroil Element (continued)Place the broil element into the oven chamberwith the glass facing down and the terminalstoward the back of the oven.Lift the back of the element up and reconnectthe broil element wires to the terminalson the broil element assembly. Make surethat the wires are connected to the properterminals.Insert the broil element assembly into thehole in the oven ceiling while pushing the broilelement wires into the access hole toward theback.Hold the broil element assembly in placewith one hand while replacing the eight (8)existing screws that hold it in place.Reinstall the racks.Reinstall the oven door as described on page8-2.Test the oven to ensure that repairs wereproperly completed.Bake ElementLeft oven on Model ER48D:Turn off the gas supply at the supply valveand power to the range at the junction or fusebox.Remove the oven door as described on page8-1. Remove the oven racks.Remove the convection filter A from theback wall of the oven by lifting it up and out.Remove the four (4) screws that hold theconvection baffle B to the back of the ovenand remove it.Remove the screws that hold the bakeelement C in place. Pull the wires throughthe back wall with a gentle rocking motionto prevent them from disconnecting from theelement inside the back wall. Disconnect thewires from the element after they have pulledthrough the wall.When replacing the element, connect thewires to the element and gently push theminto the holes on the back oven wall as youreposition the element. Reattach it using theexisting screws.Reinstall the convection baffle and filter.Reinstall the oven racks. Reinstall the ovendoor as described on page 8-2.Test the oven to ensure that repairs wereproperly completed.••••••••••••••••ABC
