Dacor recommends hand dishwashingliquid. To clean:Disconnect power and turn the knobs to the off1.position to remove them for cleaning or replace-ment.Grasp each knob and pull straight back, off of2.the valve shaft.Clean the outside edges of the trim rings while3.the knobs are removed. Wipe them with a softdamp rag.To replace the knobs,4.align the “D-shaped”opening on theback of the knobwith the end of thevalve shaft. Care-fully push the knobon until it stops. Thelargest knob withnumbers on it is theoven knob and goeson the center valvestem. The dual burner knob has the high flameicon and the simmer (low) icon spaced furtherapart than the other three. Place it on the valvestem that is second from the left.Reconnect the power cord.5.Door GlassClean all glass surfaces with a solution of milddetergent and hot water. Use a mild glass cleaner toremove fingerprints or smears. Dry completely witha soft, lint-free cloth.Stainless Steel SurfacesThe control panel, the outside surface of the ovendoor, the area around the outside of the cook-top and the side panels are covered with stainlesssteel. Clean these surfaces with the provided DacorStainless Steel Cleaner. Rinse and dry with a soft,lint-free cloth. Always wipe stainless steel surfaceswith the grain. A small amount of baby oil may beapplied to stainless steel tops to restore lustre.Care and CleaningBrass, Chrome and Copper SurfacesClean brass, chrome and copper surfaces the sameway as stainless steel surfaces (see column one).Porcelain SurfacesThe oven interior, the inner side of the oven doorand the spill tray are finished in porcelain enamel.Clean porcelain surfaces with a solution of milddetergent and hot water. Rinse and dry with a softcloth. Do not use abrasives or commercial ovencleaners. You may remove the rack supports toclean the surfaces behind them more easily.Rack Support RemovalWith the oven cool, pull straight out on the front1.of the rack support, toward the center. Themounting pins on the front of the rack shoulddisengage from the oven.While holding the rack support at a 45˚ angle to2.the side of the oven, gently pull forward to dis-engage the rear mounting pins from the oven.Rack Support InstallationOne set of mounting pins on each rack support1.are straight, the other set is at an angle. Theangular pins go toward the back of the oven.Insert them in the rear mounting holes whileholding the rack support at a 45˚ angle to theside of the oven. To prevent damage, do notinsert the rack support with the angular pinsforward.Rotate the front of the rack towards the wall of2.the oven. Slide the front rack pins into the frontmounting holes.Oven Racks and Rack SupportsSee above for instructions on removing the rack•supports.The oven racks and rack supports are chrome-•plated. For everyday cleaning, apply a solutionof detergent and hot water. To clean heavy soil,use the rough side of a sponge or a scouring padwith plenty of water, or use a solution of 1 cupammonia to 2 gallons of water.
