8Installation InstructionsVerifying Proper OperationWARNINGRead the accompanying use and care manual completelybefore using the cooktop.Clean the cooking surface according to the use and1.care manual prior to use.Turn on the power to the cooktop at the circuit breaker2.or fuse box. When the unit is powered on for the firsttime, the cooktop controls will go through a self-checkroutine. For safety, when the self-check is complete,the cooktop controls will go into locked mode. Unlockthe element controls:On ETT series models, push and hold the Dacor◊logo key for three seconds. Three beeps shouldsound and the Dacor logo indicator light should goout.On MET series models, push and hold the◊CANCEL • SECURE key for three seconds. Threebeeps should sound and the CANCEL • SECUREindicator light should go out.Turn on the left rear element by pressing the left rear3.ON/OFF key. Press the 8 setting key (on the same row)to select heat level 8. Verify that the element begins toheat, then turn it off by pressing the ON/OFF key.Repeat step 3 for the remaining burners. The left front4.burner has two different elements, an inner one and anouter one. To activate the outer element:Press the◊ ON/OFF key for the left front elementand press the 8 number setting.Activate the outer element by pressing the outer◊element key (the circle) on the right side of the ele-ment control.On model METB365-1, turn on both the right front◊and left front elements on setting 8, then press thebridge element key to verify it is working.For safety, lock the controls after testing is complete.5.NOTE: If the cooktop does not operate properly, followthese troubleshooting steps:Verify that power is supplied to the cooktop.◊Check for proper electrical connections.◊Make sure the cooktop controls are not locked (see◊step 2).Repeat the above tests.◊If the appliance still does not work, contact Dacor◊Distinctive Service at (877) 337-3226. Do notattempt to repair the appliance yourself. If you needservice, be sure to have the model and serial num-bers available when you call.
