5Blower InstallationWARNING:Do not slide the CABP3 blowerover or beyond the mountingstop on the blower mountinggroove. To do so may preventthe vent sleeve from raising and/or lowering due to interferencebetween the blower and the ventdrive arm assembly.Connecting the Exhaust DuctNOTE:Use duct tape to seal theconnection between the bloweroutlet and duct. Support the ductweight as necessary to ensuresealed joints. For the side or bottom knockouts use the sup-plied transition (ATD2). For the rear knockoutattach a 3 1/4" x 10" duct.Electrical ConnectionWARNINGS:1. Ensure that the power supplyis disconnected beforeproceeding.2. Verify that the power supplymatches the ratings found onthe appliance data plate beforeproceeding.3. The complete appliance mustbe properly grounded at alltimes when electrical power isapplied.4. Do not ground the appliancewith the neutral (white) housesupply wire. A separateground wire must be utilized.5. If aluminum house supplywiring is used, splice theappliance copper wires to thealuminum house wiring withspecial connectors designedand agency-certified for thispurpose. Follow the connectormanufacturer’s recommendedprocedure carefully. Attachthe adhesive-backed foam tape provided withthe blower to the left and right vertical blowercover flanges. Attach the Remote Blower Cover(AREM) to the large opening in the front of thevent. The vent is now ready to be ducted for aremote blower installation.NOTE:For both the cabinet and remotesystems, the vent must beinstalled in a vertical orientation.Do not mount the vent on a slantor angle.6. Failure to complete electricalconnections properly mayresult in a damaged or non-functional system. Follow thewiring diagrams carefully toensure a proper installation. Both vent systems require a properly grounded,120 VAC, 60 Hz., 15 Amp electrical service.Max. full line load is 8 amps. Always use adedicated circuit. Do not use same circuit thatcooktop is using.Make all electrical connections between the ventand blowers, then connect power to the vent asper the wiring diagrams shown on pages 5 and6. Use wire nuts provided and electrical tape tosecure all wiring connections at the blowers.
