11Stainless Steel SurfacesWARNINGAlways wipe stainless steel (silver colored) surfaces withthe grain. To prevent scratching, do not use abrasivecleaners or scrubbers on stainless steel surfaces.• Clean stainless steel surfaces with a mild solu-tion of detergent and warm water. Rinse and drywith a soft, lint-free cloth.• You may also use Dacor Stainless Steel Cleaneron the stainless steel surfaces. Use it accordingto the directions on the package.Brass, Chrome and Copper SurfacesWARNINGTo prevent scratching, do not use abrasive cleaners orscrubbers on metal surfaces.Using a soft cloth, clean metal surfaces with a mildsolution of detergent and warm water. Rinse and drywith a soft, lint-free cloth.Knobs and Trim RingsWARNINGNever block the holes in the control panel behind theknobs. Doing so will impair the flow of combustion airand adversely affect burner operation, possibly creating ahazardous condition.To prevent damage, do not expose the knobs to directflame, hot utensils or other sources of heat.• Turn the knobs to the off position before remov-ing them for cleaning or replacement.• To remove the knobs, gently grasp each knoband pull straight out, off of the valve shaft.• Wash the knobs regularly with a solution ofwarm soapy water. Dacor recommends handdishwashing liquid.• Clean the outside edges of the trim rings whilethe knobs are removed. Do not remove the trimrings. Wipe them with a soft damp rag. Use cau-tion to avoid getting moisture into the controlpanel behind the trim rings.• To replace the knobs, alignthe “D-shaped” opening onthe back of the knob withthe end of the valve shaft.Carefully push the knob onuntil it stops. Make sureyou put the two knobs withthe words MAX GRIDDLEon the two valve stemsclosest to the center.Care and CleaningCleaning the GriddleClean the griddle after each use. Wash it thoroughlyin hot soapy water to avoid stains from greasebuild-up. The griddle is coated with a non-stick coat-ing for easy cleaning. Warm water and liquid deter-gent are all that are needed for cleaning. Removestubborn spots with a non-abrasive plastic meshpad. To prevent scratching, do not use abrasives orabrasive cleaners. Use the soft side of a sponge toscrub it. Dry it with a lint-free cloth.
