Use only ductworkdeemed acceptable by state, municipal and local codes.WARNINGTo reduce the risk of personal injury caused by reachingover a hot appliance, cabinet storage space locateddirectly above the range should be avoided.IMPORTANTSee the diagram for minimum installed distance fromthe hood to the cooktop surface. The minimum specifieddistance may be higher for the particular range orcooktop in use. Check the manufacturers specificationsfor the cooktop or range.• The hood canopy must be as wide as the cooktop sur-face or wider.• Plan the installation so that all minimum dimensionsare met or exceeded.• Dimensions given are minimum clearances, unless oth-erwise noted.• All contact surfaces between the RNIVS and any cabi-netry or walls must be sturdy, solid, and at right angles.• Install the RNIVS and cooking appliance(s) so that theycan be removed if service is required.• Local building codes may require the use of makeup airsystems with ventilation systems that move air greaterthan the specified movement rate (CFM). The specifiedrate varies based on locale.
