Tilt and Sideshift Relief ValveCheck and Adjustment1. Start the engine and activate the hydraulics untilthe hydraulic oil is at the normal operatingtemperature. Put the carriage in the full sideshiftposition.2. With the enigne at high idle, hold the sideshiftcontrol lever in the full sideshift position and watchthe gauge. The gauge indication is the pressurethat opens the relief valve.3. The correct pressure setting is shown in the chart.4. If an adjustment to the relief valve setting isnecessary, loosen nut (5).Relief Valve Adjustment(5) Nut. (6) Setscrew.5. Turn setscrew (6) clockwise to increase orcounterclockwise to decrease the pressure settingof the relief valve.6. Tighten the locknut and check the pressure settingagain for correct adjustment.Flow Control Valve AdjustmentThe tilt and first attachment speeds can be adjustedat the control valves. They can be adjusted by turningplug the in the hydraulic control valve body. The liftspeed can not be adjusted. Do the procedure thatfollows to change the flow control assembly.Flow Control Valve Adjustment(1) Flow control valve adjuster.1. Remove the nut from the main hydraulic valve tie-bolt stud.2. Remove the stud from the valve.3. Use Hex Wrench (6mm), turn the flow controladjuster clockwise to increase the flow orcounterclockwise to decrease the flow.4. Assemble the tie bolt stud in the valve. Torque thestud to 38.5 - 42.5 N•m (342 - 378 lb•in)5. Reinstall the nut on the tie bolt and torue38.5 - 42.5 N•m (342 - 378 lb•in).24 of 29New Hydraulic Systems Testing and AdjustingWARNINGHydraulic oil, under pressure can remain in thehydraulic system after the engine and pump havebeen stopped. Personal injury can be caused if thispressure is not released before any work is done onthe hydraulic system. To prevent possible injury, lower the carriage to the ground, turn the engine offand move the control levers to make sure allhydraulic pressure is released before any fitting, plug, hose or component is loosened, tightened, removed or adjusted. Always move the lift truck to aclean and level location away from the travel ofother machines. Be sure that other personnel arenot near the machine when the engine is runningand tests or adjustments are made.IDCS003CIDCS016BLift Section1Remove nuttie-boltstud here65
