SiBE04-824 Indoor UnitRemoval Procedure 1631.9 Removal of Heat ExchangerProcedure Warning Be sure to turn off all power supplies at least 10 min. beforedisassembling work.Step Procedure Points1. Disconnecting therefrigerant pipePreparation Remove the drain pan unitaccording to the “Removalof Drain Pan Unit.”1 Remove the screwswhich fix the heatexchanger to theinstallation plate.2 Lift the indoor unit by awooden base. CautionIn pump-down work, be sureto stop the compressorbefore disconnecting therefrigerant pipe. If therefrigerant pipe isdisconnected with thecompressor being operatedand the stop valve beingopen, air may be sucked in togenerate an over-pressure inrefrigeration cycle, thusresulting in pipe rupture oraccidental injury.3 Lift up the indoor unitbody slightly and pullout the drain hose. (Inthe case of left piping) Place a plastic bag underthe drain pan to preventfrom wetting the floor withremaining drain. If the drain hose isembedded in the wall,disconnect the drain hosebeforehand.4 Disconnect the pipeconnection with 2 pairof spanners.CautionFrom the point of viewof environmentalprotection, be sure touse a vacuum pumpfor air purging. Carry out the removal workswith 2 pair of spanners. When the pipes aredisconnected, protect theboth openings of pipe sideand unit side from enteringof moisture.
