Installation manual6 EBHQ006+008BAV3 + EKCBX/H008BAV3Unit for air to water heat pump system4PW64602-1A – 09.2010■ Opening of the indoor unitTo gain access to the unit, the front cover needs to be opened asshown in the figure below5.2. Main components of the outdoor unit and theindoor unitOutdoor unit watersystem1. Switch boxThe switch box contains connection terminals for the powersupply and a connection point for the thermistor interconnectioncable.2. Heat exchanger3. Water inlet connection (1" MBSP)4. Water outlet connection (1" MBSP)5. PumpThe pump circulates the water in the water circuit.6. ManometerThe manometer allows readout of the water pressure in thesystem.7. Expansion vessel (6 litre)The water in the water circuit expands with rising temperatures. The expansion vessel stabilises the pressure changes withchanging water temperatures by giving free space to thechanging water volume.8. Expansion vessel service pointThe service point allows connection of a dry nitrogen cylinder toadjust the expansion vessel pre-pressure if necessary.9. Drain and fill valve (2x)10. Air purge valveRemaining air in the water circuit will be automatically removedvia the air purge valve.11. Water filterThe water filter removes dirt from the water to prevent damageto the pump or blockage of the heat exchanger. The water filtershould be cleaned on a regular base. See "16. Maintenance andservice" on page 43.12. Temperature sensors (thermistors)Two temperature sensors determine the water inlet temperature(12a) and water outlet temperature (12b). A third thermistor(12c) measures the refrigerant temperature.13. Power supply intake14. Thermistor interconnection cable intake15. Shut-off valves (accessory)The shut-off valves on the water inlet connection and wateroutlet connection allow isolation of the outdoor unit water circuitside from the residential water circuit side. This facilitatesdraining and filter replacement of the outdoor unit.16. Flow switchThe flow switch checks the flow in the water circuit and protectsthe heat exchanger against freezing and the pump againstdamage. In case the minimum required flow is not achieved, theunit will be shut down.17. Pressure relief valveThe pressure relief valve prevents excessive water pressure inthe water circuit (≥3 bar).WARNING■ Switch off all power supply – i.e. outdoor unit powersupply and backup heater and domestic hot watertank power supply (if applicable) – before removingthe switch box service panel (outdoor unit and indoorunit).■ Do not touch the refrigerant pipes during andimmediately after operation as the refrigerant pipesmay be hot or cold, depending on the condition of therefrigerant flowing through the refrigerant piping, compressor, and other refrigerant cycle parts. Yourhands may suffer burns or frostbite if you touch therefrigerant pipes. To avoid injury, give the pipes time toreturn to normal temperature or, if you must touchthem, be sure to wear proper gloves.■ Do not touch the internal parts (pump, backup heater, etc.) during and immediately after operation.Your hands may suffer burns if you touch the internalparts. To avoid injury, give the internal parts time toreturn to normal temperature or, if you must touchthem, be sure to wear proper gloves.DANGER■ Do not touch water pipes during and immediately afteroperation as the pipes may be hot. Your hand maysuffer burns. To avoid injury, give the piping time toreturn to normal temperature or be sure to wearproper gloves.■ When service panels are removed, live parts can beeasily touched by accident.Never leave the unit unattended during installation orservicing when the service panel is removed.DANGER: ELECTRICAL SHOCKSee "2.
