EDUS281008 Installation of outdoor unitInstallation of indoor / outdoor unit 5723PA60114-14Y17 EnglishWhen a malfunction code is displayed in the remotecontroller(Check a malfunction code in the remote controller connectedto the indoor unit.)Malfunctioncode Cause SolutionE3The stop valves inthe outdoor unitremain closed.Open the stop valve on both thegas and liquid lines. The refrigerant isovercharged.Calculate again the requiredamount of refrigerant to be chargedbased on the piping length, recoverthe refrigerant using the refrigerantrecovery device, then achieveproper amount of refrigerant.E4F3The stop valves inthe outdoor unitremain closed.Open the stop valve on both thegas side and liquid side. The operationmode on theremote controllerwas changedbefore the checkoperation.Set the operation mode on allindoor unit remote controllers to“cooling.”The refrigerant isinsuffi cient.Check whether additional•refrigerant charge has beenfi nished correctly.Calculate again the required•amount of refrigerant to becharged based on the pipinglength, then charge additionallyproper amount of refrigerant.F6 The refrigerant isovercharged.Calculate again the requiredamount of refrigerant to be chargedbased on the piping length, recoverthe refrigerant using the refrigerantrecovery device, then achieveproper amount of refrigerant.U3The checkoperation has notperformed.Perform the check operation.U4The power is notsupplied to theoutdoor unit.Connect correctly the power supplywiring of the outdoor unit.UAImproper type ofindoor unit isconnected.Check the type of indoor unitcurrently connected. If it is notproper, replace it with proper one.UFThe stop valves inthe outdoor unitremain closed.Open the stop valve on both thegas and liquid lines. The piping andwiring of theindoor unit arenot connectedcorrectly to theoutdoor unit.Confi rm that the piping and wiringof the indoor unit are connectedcorrectly to the outdoor unit. The operationmode on theremote controllerwas changedbefore the checkoperation.Set the operation mode on indoorunit remote controller to “cooling.”UHThe transmissionwiring is notconnectedcorrectly.Connect correctly the transmissionwiring to the F1 and F2 (TO IN/DUNIT) terminals on the PC board(A1P) in the outdoor unit. When nothing is displayed in the remote controllerThere might be a problem with the connection or transmis-•sion between the indoor unit and the remote controller.Check connections, and check for wire breakage.CAUTIONAfter finishing the test operation and before using the•unit by customer, confirm that the outside panels andscrews are attached securely to the units.CAUTION FOR REFRIGERANT LEAKS10.DANGERRefrigerant gas is heavier than air and replaces oxygen. A•massive leak could lead to oxygen depletion, especially inbasements, and an asphyxiation hazard could occur leadingto serious injury or death.(Points to note in connection with refrigerant leaks)IntroductionThe installer and system specialist shall secure safetyagainst leakage according to local regulations or stan-dards. The following standards may be applicable if localregulations are not available. The Split System, like other air conditioning systems, usesR410A as refrigerant. R410A itself is an entirely safe non-toxic,non-combustible refrigerant. Nevertheless care must be takento ensure that air conditioning facilities are installed in a roomwhich is suffi ciently large. This assures that the maximumconcentration level of refrigerant gas is not exceeded, in theunlikely event of major leak in the system and this in accor-dance to the local applicable regulations and standards.Maximum concentration levelThe maximum charge of refrigerant and the calculation of themaximum concentration of refrigerant is directly related to thehumanly occupied space in to which it could leak. The unit of measurement of the concentration is lb./ft³ ( theweight in lb. of the refrigerant gas in 1ft³ volume of the occu-pied space).Compliance to the local applicable regulations and standardsfor the maximum allowable concentration level is required.Direction of the refrigerant flowRoom whererefrigerant leakhas occurred(outflow of all therefrigerant fromthe system)
