Instruct the customer on how to operate andmaintain the unit.Inform customers that they should store this OperationManual with the Installation Manual for future reference.Meanings of DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION, and NOTESymbols:DANGER .............. Indicates an imminently hazardoussituation which, if not avoided, willresult in death or serious injury.WARNING ............ Indicates a potentially hazardoussituation which, if not avoided, couldresult in death or serious injury.CAUTION ............. Indicates a potentially hazardoussituation which, if not avoided, mayresult in minor or moderate injury. Itmay also be used to alert againstunsafe practices.NOTE .................. Indicates situations that may result inequipment or property-damageaccidents only.• Do not install the unit in an area where flammablematerials are present due to risk of explosionresulting in serious injury or death.• Any abnormalities in the operation of the airconditioner or heat pump, such as smoke or fire,could result in severe injury or death. Turn off thepower and contact your dealer immediately.• Refrigerant gas may produce toxic gas if it comes intocontact with fire, such as from a fan, heater, stove, orcooking device. Exposure to this gas could causesevere injury or death.• For refrigerant leakage, consult your dealer.Refrigerant gas is heavier than air and replacesoxygen. A massive leak could lead to oxygendepletion, especially in basements, and anasphyxiation hazard could occur leading to seriousinjury or death.• If equipment utilizing a burner is used in the sameroom as the air conditioner or heat pump, there is thedanger of oxygen deficiency which could lead to anasphyxiation hazard resulting in serious injury ordeath. Be sure to ventilate the room sufficiently toavoid this hazard.• Safely dispose of the packing materials. Packingmaterials, such as nails and other metal or woodenparts, may cause stabs or other injuries.• Tear apart and throw away plastic packaging bags sothat children will not play with them. Children playingwith plastic bags face the danger of death bysuffocation.• Contact your dealer for repair and maintenance.Improper repair and maintenance may result in waterleakage, electric shock, and fire. Only useaccessories made by Daikin that are specificallydesigned for use with the equipment and have theminstalled by a professional.• Contact your dealer to move and reinstall the airconditioner or heat pump. Incomplete installation mayresult in water leakage, electric shock, and fire.• Never let the indoor unit or the remote controller getwet. Water can cause an electric shock or a fire.• Never use flammable spray such as hair spray,lacquer, or paint near the unit. Flammable spray maycause a fire.• When a fuse blows out, never replace it with one ofincorrect ampere ratings or different wires. Alwaysreplace any blown fuse with a fuse of the samespecification.• Never remove the fan guard of the unit. A fan rotatingat high speed without the fan guard is verydangerous.• Never inspect or service the unit by yourself. Contacta qualified service person to perform this work.• Turn off all electrical power before doing anymaintenance to avoid the risk of serious electricshock; never sprinkle or spill water or liquids on theunit.• Do not touch the switch with wet fingers. Touching aswitch with wet fingers can cause electric shock.• Do not allow children to play on or around the unit toprevent injury.• The heat exchanger fins are sharp enough to cut. Toavoid injury wear gloves or cover the fins whileworking around them.• Do not put a finger or other objects into the air inlet orair outlet. The fan is rotating at high speed and willcause injury.• Check the unit foundation for damage on acontinuous basis, especially if it has been in use for along time. If left in a damaged condition the unit mayfall and cause injury.
