7 TroubleshootingOperation manual9FTXP50~71M2V1BDaikin room air conditioner3P511999-4E – 2018.09INFORMATION▪ If the dust does NOT come off easily, wash the airfilters with a neutral detergent diluted in lukewarmwater. Dry the air filters in the shade.▪ Be sure to remove the titanium apatite deodorizing andsilver particle filters.▪ It is recommended to clean the air filters every 2weeks.6.7 To clean the titanium apatitedeodorizing filter and the silverparticle filter (Ag-ion filter)INFORMATIONClean the filter with water every 6 months.1 Remove the titanium apatite deodorizing and silver particlefilters from the tabs.a Tabs2 Remove the dust from the filter with a vacuum cleaner.3 Soak the filter for 10 to 15 minutes in warm water. Do NOTremove the filter from the frame.4 After washing, shake off remaining water and dry the filter in theshade. Do NOT wring out the filter when removing water.6.8 To replace the titanium apatitedeodorizing filter and the silverparticle filter (Ag-ion filter)INFORMATIONReplace the filter every 3 years.1 Remove the tabs on the filter frame and replace the filter with anew one.INFORMATION▪ Do NOT throw away the filter frame, but use it again.▪ Dispose of the old filter as non-flammable waste.6.9 To close the front panel1 Install all filters back in their original positions.2 Gently press the front panel at both sides and at the center untilit clicks.6.10 To take following items intoaccount before a long idle period1 Set the mode to fan only by pressing button to dry theinside of the unit.2 After operation stops, turn the breaker off.3 Clean the air filters and replace them in their original position.4 Remove the batteries from the user interface.INFORMATIONIt is recommended to have periodical maintenanceperformed by a specialist. For specialist maintenance,contact your dealer. Maintenance costs shall be borne bythe customer.In certain operating conditions the inside of the unit mayget dirty after several seasons of use. This results in poorperformance.7 TroubleshootingIf one of the following malfunctions occur, take the measures shownbelow and contact your dealer.WARNINGStop operation and shut off the power if anythingunusual occurs (burning smells etc.).Leaving the unit running under such circumstances maycause breakage, electric shock or fire. Contact your dealer.The system MUST be repaired by a qualified service person.Malfunction MeasureIf a safety device such as a fuse, abreaker or an earth leakage breakerfrequently actuates or the ON/OFFswitch does NOT properly work.Turn OFF the main powerswitch.If water leaks from the unit. Stop the operation.The operation switch does NOT workwell.Turn OFF the powersupply.If the user interface display indicates theunit number, the operation lamp flashesand the malfunction code appears.Notify your installer andreport the malfunctioncode.If the system does NOT properly operate except for the abovementioned cases and none of the above mentioned malfunctions isevident, investigate the system according to the followingprocedures.
