Main Functions SiBE041213E17 Function and Control1.3 Airflow Direction ControlPower-AirflowDual FlapsThe large flap sends a large volume of air downward to the floor and provides an optimumcontrol in cooling, dry, and heating operation.During cooling or dry operation, the flap retracts into the indoor unit. Then, cool air can be blownfar and distributed all over the room.During heating operation, the large flap directs airflow downward to spread the warm air to theentire room.Wide-AngleLouversThe louvers, made of elastic synthetic resin, provide a wide range of airflow that guarantees acomfortable air distribution.Auto-Swing The following table explains the auto-swing process for cooling, dry, heating, and fan:3-D Airflow Alternative repetition of vertical and horizontal swing motions enables uniform air-conditioning ofthe entire room. This function is effective for starting the air conditioner. When the horizontal swing and vertical swing are both set to automatic mode, the airflowbecomes 3-D airflow. The horizontal and vertical swing motions are alternated and the airflowdirection changes in the order shown in the following diagram.(1): The vertical blades (louvers) move from the right to the left.(2): The horizontal blades (flaps) move downward.(3): The vertical blades (louvers) move from the left to the right.(4): The horizontal blades (flaps) move upward.COMFORTAIRFLOWOperationThe vertical swing flap is controlled not to blow the air directly on the person in the room.Vertical Swing (up and down) Horizontal Swing(right and left)Cooling / Dry / Fan Heating(R18422) (R18423) (R11404)10˚10˚60˚10˚60˚30˚65˚45˚45˚(R13554)(1)(2)(3) (4)Cooling / Dry Heating A B(R18417) (R18418)5° 70°A B
