Installation and operation manual5 FXFQ20~125M8V3BVRV System air conditioners4PW25082-1AELECTRIC WIRING WORKGeneral instructions■ All field supplied parts and materials and electric works mustconform to local codes.■ Use copper wire only.■ Follow the "Wiring diagram" attached to the unit body to wire theoutdoor unit, indoor units and the remote controller. For detailson hooking up the remote controller, refer to the "Installationmanual of the remote controller".■ All wiring must be performed by an authorized electrician.■ A circuit breaker capable of shutting down power supply to theentire system must be installed.Note that the operation will restart automatically if the mainpower supply is turned off and then turned back on again.■ This system consists of multiple indoor units. Mark each indoorunit as unit A, unit B..., and be sure the terminal board wiring tothe outdoor unit and BS unit are properly matched. If wiring andpiping between the outdoor unit and an indoor unit aremismatched, the system may cause a malfunction.Electrical characteristicsMCA: Min. circuit Amps (A)MFA: Max. While doing this, pull thewires inside through the rubber bush A and clamp the wiresalong with other wires using clamp A, untightening the clip ofclamp A by pressing. After the connection, tighten clamp A asbefore.■ Unit wiring and remote controller wiringRemove the switch box lid (2) and pull the wires inside throughthe rubber bush B and connect to the terminal board for unittransmission wiring.■ After connectionAttach the small sealing (supplied with the unit) around thecables to prevent infiltrating of water from the outside into theunit. If two or more cables are used, divide the small sealing intothe required number of pieces and wrap them around all thecables.Precautions1 Observe the notes mentioned below when wiring to the powersupply terminal board.• Do not connect wires of different gauge to the same power supplyterminal. (Looseness in the connection may cause overheating.)• When connecting wires of the same gauge, connect themaccording to the figure.Use the specified electric wire. Connect the wire securely to theterminal. Lock the wire down without applying excessive force tothe terminal. (tightening torque 1.31 N•m ±10 %)2 Keep total current of crossover wiring between indoor units lessthan 12 A. Branch the line outside the terminal board of the unitin accordance with electrical equipment standards, when usingtwo power wiring of a gauge greater than 2 mm 2 (Ø1.6).The branch must be sheathed in order to provide an equal orgreater degree of insulation as power supply wiring itself.3 Do not connect wires of different gauge to the same groundingterminal. Looseness in the connection may deteriorate theprotection.4 Remote controller cords and wires connecting the units shouldbe located at least 50 mm away from power supply wiring. Notfollowing this guideline may result in malfunction due toelectrical noise.Model Hz Volts Voltage rangeFXFQ20~125 50 230 min. 198-max. 264power supply Fan motorModel MCA MFA KW FLAFXFQ20~50 0.5 16 A 0.045 0.4FXFQ63 0.6 16 A 0.045 0.5FXFQ80 1.0 16 A 0.090 0.8FXFQ100 1.1 16 A 0.090 0.9FXFQ125 1.4 16 A 0.090 1.1NOTE For details, refer to "Electrical data".Power supply wiringModel Field fuses Wire SizeFXFQ20~125 16 A H05VV-U3G Local codesTransmission wiringModel Wire SizeFXFQ20~125 Sheathed wire (2) 0.75-1.25 mm2NOTE ■ For details, refer to the chapter "Wiring example".■ Allowable length of transmission wiring betweenindoor and outdoor units, and between the indoorunit and the remote controller is as follows:• Outdoor unit - indoor unit: max. 1000 m(total wiring length: 2000 m)• Indoor unit - remote controller: max 500 m1 Switch box lid (1)2 Power supply3 Power supply terminal board4 Rubber bush A5 Clamp A6 Switch box lid (2) with wiring diagram label7 Transmission wiring8 Terminal board for transmission wiring9 Rubber bush B10 Clamp B11 Outside of the unit12 Inside of the unit13 Cable (power supply or transmission wiring)14 Opening for the cable15 Small sealing
