122. Tightening torque for the terminal screws.• Use the correct screwdriver for tightening the terminalscrews. If the blade of screwdriver is too small, the headof the screw might be damaged, and the screw will not beproperly tightened.• If the terminal screws are tightened too hard, screwsmight be damaged.• Refer to the table below for the tightening torque of theterminal screws.Table 43. Do not connect wires of different gauge to the same groundterminal. Looseness in the connection may deteriorate pro-tection.4. Outside of the unit, keep transmission wire at least 5 in.away from power supply wire. The equipment may malfunc-tion if subjected to electrical (external) noise.5. For remote controller wire, refer to the “INSTALLATIONMANUAL OF REMOTE CONTROLLER” attached to theremote controller.9-2 WIRING EXAMPLE• Fit the power supply wire of each unit with a switch and fuseas shown in the drawing.COMPLETE SYSTEM EXAMPLE (3 systems)1. When using 1 remote controller for 1 indoor unit. (Nor-mal operation)2. For group control or use with 2 remote controllers3. When including BS unitNOTE1. It is not necessary to designate indoor unit address whenusing group control. The address is automatically set whenpower is activated.2. All transmission wires except for remote controller wire arepolarized and must match the terminal symbol.3. A single switch can be used to supply power to units on thesame system. However, branch switches and branch circuitbreakers must be selected carefully.4. Do not ground the equipment on gas pipes, water pipes orlightning rods, or crossground with telephones. Impropergrounding could result in electric shock.10. ATTACHING THE SUCTION GRILLE,THE DECORATION PANELS AND THEPROTECTION NETOnce wiring is complete, firmly attach the control box lid, thesuction grille, the decoration panels and the protection net in theorder opposite to detachment.• Attaching the protection netAttach the protection net from the way of the hook (i), fix 2securing screws of the middle of the other side first (ii), thenfix the remaining securing screws (iii).Terminal Size Tightening torque (ft.lbf)Transmission terminal block (6P) M3.5 0.58 – 0.72Power supply terminal block (2P) M4 0.87 – 1.06Ground terminal M4 0.87 – 1.06Power supply wireTransmission wireSwitchFusePower supplyMainswitchRemote controllerIndoor unitBS unit(Only for Heatrecoverysystem)Fig. 30L 2L 1 L 2L 1L 2L 1L1 L2 L1 L 2IN/D OUT/DF 1 F 2 F 1 F 2Control boxL1 L2P1 P2P 1 P 2F1 F2 T1 T2 P1 P2 F1 F2 T1 T2P 1 P 2P1 P2 F1 F2 T1 T2P 1 P 2P1 P2 F1 F2 T1 T2P 1 P 2L 1 L2Outdoor unitIndoorunit AIndoorunit BIndoorunit CMostdownstreamIndoor unitPower supply208-230V60HzPower supply208-230V60HzPower supply208-230V60HzPower supply208-230V60HzRemotecontroller Fig. 31L 2L 1L1 L2 L1 L2L1 L2IN/D OUT/DF 1 F 2 F 1 F 2Control boxP1 P2P1 P2F1 F2 T1 T2 P1 P2 F1 F2 T1 T2 P1 P2 F1 F2 T1 T2 P1 P2 F1 F2 T1 T2P1 P2P1 P2L1 L2Outdoor unitIndoorunit BMostdownstreamindoor unitFor use with 2remote controllersRemotecontrollerPower supply208-230V60HzFig. 32L 2L1Indoorunit A Indoorunit CL2L 1 L 2L 1 L 2L 1Power supply208-230V60HzPower supply208-230V60HzPower supply208-230V60HzIN/D OUT/DF1 F2 F1 F2IN/DOUT/DF 1 F2 F1 F2L1 L2P 1 P2P 1 P 2 F 1 F 2 T 1 T 2BS unitOutdoor unitPowersupply208-230V60HzIndoor unit A Mostdownstreamindoor unitPowersupply208-230V60HzControl boxControl boxIN/DOUT/DF 1 F2 F1 F2BS unitControl boxL1 L2P 1 P2P 1 P 2 F 1 F 2 T 1 T 2RemotecontrollerL 2L 1Fig. 33L2L 1
