In this mode, cooling will be activated asrequired by the setpoint, or by Setback operation.Heating. In this mode, heating will be activated asrequired by the setpoint, or by Setback operation.Fan only. In this mode, air circulates without heatingor cooling.Dry. In this mode, the air humidity will be lowered witha minimal temperature decrease.The temperature and fan speed are controlledautomatically and cannot be controlled by thecontroller.Dry operation will not function if the room temperatureis too low.Auto. In Auto mode, the indoor unit automaticallyswitches between heating and cooling mode, asrequired by the setpoint.6.2.2 Special heating operation modesOperation DescriptionDefrost To prevent a loss of heating capacity due to frostaccumulation in the outdoor unit, the system willautomatically switch to defrost operation.During defrost operation, the indoor unit fan will stopoperation, and the following icon will appear on thehome screen:The system will resume normal operation afterapproximately 6 to 8 minutes.Hot start During hot start, the indoor unit fan will stopoperation, and the following icon will appear on thehome screen:6.2.3 Adjusting the airflow directionThe following airflow directions can be set:▪ Up and down direction (horizontal blades): Using user interface(fixed position or swing)▪ Left and right direction (vertical blades): Manually (fixed positiononly)a bba Horizontal blades (up and down direction)b Vertical blades (left and right direction)Up and down airflow direction settingINFORMATIONFor setting procedure of the airflow direction, see thereference guide or the manual of the used user interface.When the operation stops, the horizontal blades at the air outletclose automatically.The following airflow directions can be set:Direction DisplayFixed position. The indoor unitblows air in 1 of 5 fixed positions.Swing. The indoor unit alternatesbetween the 5 positions.Note: The recommended position of the horizontal blades (flaps)varies according to the operation mode.aba Cooling operationb Heating operationWARNINGNEVER touch the air outlet or the horizontal blades whilethe swing flap is in operation. Fingers may become caughtor the unit may break down.NOTICEAvoid operating in the horizontal direction. It may causedew or dust to settle on the ceiling or flap.Left and right airflow direction settingThe left and right airflow direction can be set only manually in fixedposition.Make adjustments only after stopping the horizontal blade in order toavoid injury and damage to the appliance.
