2 English(b) where corrosive gas, such as sulfurous acid gas, is pro-ducedCorroding copper pipes or soldered parts may result inrefrigerant leakage.(c) near machinery emitting electromagnetic wavesElectromagnetic waves may disturb the operation of thecontrol system and result in a malfunction of the equip-ment.(d) where flammable gases may leak, where there are car-bon fiber or ignitable dust suspensions in the air, orwhere volatile flammables such as thinner or gasolineare handled.Operating the unit in such conditions may result infire.2. BEFORE INSTALLATION• When moving the unit while removing it from the cartonbox, be sure to lift it by holding on to the four lifting lugswithout exerting any pressure on other parts, especially, the refrigerant piping, drain piping, and other resinparts.• Be sure to check the type of R410A refrigerant to be usedbefore installing the unit. (Using an incorrect refrigerant willprevent normal operation of the unit.)• The accessories needed for installation must be retained inyour custody until the installation work is completed. Do notdiscard them!• Decide upon a line of transport.• Leave the unit inside its packaging while moving, until reach-ing the installation site. Where unpacking is unavoidable, usea sling of soft material or protective plates together with arope when lifting, to avoid damage or scratches to the unit.• When selecting installation site, refer to the paper pattern.• For the installation of an outdoor unit, refer to the installationmanual attached to the outdoor unit.• Do not install or operate the unit in rooms mentioned below.• Laden with mineral oil, or filled with oil vapor or spraylike in kitchens. (Plastic parts may deteriorate whichcould eventually cause the unit to fall out of place, orcould lead to leaks.)• Where corrosive gas like sulfurous gas exists. (Cop-per tubing and brazed spots may corrode, whichcould eventually lead to refrigerant leaks.)• Where exposed to combustible gases and where vol-atile flammable gas like thinner or gasoline is used.(Gas in the vicinity of the unit could ignite.)• Where machines can generate electromagneticwaves. (Control system may malfunction.)• Where the air contains high levels of salt such as thatnear the ocean and where voltage fluctuates greatlysuch as that in factories. Also in vehicles or vessels.• This unit, both indoor and outdoor, is suitable for installationin a commercial and light industrial environment. If installed as a household appliance it could cause electro-magnetic interference.2-1 PRECAUTIONS• Be sure to read this manual before installing the indoor unit.• Entrust installation to the place of purchase or a qualified ser-viceman. Improper installation could lead to leaks and, inworse cases, electric shock of fire.• Use only parts provided with the unit or parts satisfyingrequired specifications. Unspecified parts could cause theunit to fall out of place, or could lead to leaks and, in worsecases, electric shock or fire.2-2 ACCESSORIESCheck the following accessories are included with yourunit.2-3 OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES• These are two types of remote controllers: wired and wire-less. Select a remote controller according to customerrequest and install in an appropriate place.NOTENOTENOTENOTE• If the you wishes to use a remote controller that is not listedabove, select a suitable remote controller after consultingcatalogs and technical materials.Name (1) Drain hose (2) Metal clampQuantity 1 pc. 1 pc.ShapeName (3) Washer for hangingbracket (4) ClampQuantity 8 pcs. 6 pcs.ShapeName (5) Paper pattern forinstallation Insulation for fittingQuantity 1 pc. 1 eachShape(6)For gas pipe(7)For liquid pipeName Sealing pad(Other)• Operation manual• Installation manualQuantity 1 eachShape(8) Large(9) SmallRemote controllerWired typeWireless type Heat pump typeCooling only type
