Care and MaintenanceCLEANING THEEVAPORATING TRAYSince dust accumulated on the evaporating tray will decrease the evapora-tion efficiency, periodically remove the tray to clean it. The evaporating trayis attached to the back of the refrigerator. To remove it, pull it away fromthe unit. After cleaning, make sure to put the tray securely back in place, otherwise defrosted water may spill or the evaporation process may behindered.UNIT IS HOT With the freezer-refrigerator in operation, it is possible that the cabinet willfeel warm at the front edges. This does not indicate trouble. It is attributa-ble to the hot gas line design. This prevents moisture from accumulatingand has nothing to do with the storage temperature inside. For short vacation periods, leave the control knob at the usual setting.During longer absences (3 weeks or more);a) remove all food.b) disconnect from electrical outlet.c) leave the door open to avoid possible formation of condensation, mold, or odors. Most power failures are corrected within an hour or two, and will not affectyour refrigerator temperatures. However, you should minimize the numbertimes you open the door while the power is off. During power failures oflonger duration, take steps to protect your food, for example, by placing dryice on top of packages.Remove, or securely fasten down, all loose items inside the refrigerator. Toavoid damaging the leveling legs, turn them all the way into the base.VACATION TIMEPOWER FAILUREIF YOU MOVE7
