If the unit continues to operate improperly, call an authorized service depot or Danby’s Toll Free Num-ber for assistance.Tel: 1-800-26 - (1-800-263-2629)PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTIONDehumidifi er doesnot start• The dehumidifier is un-plugged• The fuse is blown/circuitbreaker is tripped• Dehumidifier has reachedits preset level or bucket isfull• Bucket is not in the properposition• Power failure• Make sure the plug is pushed completely into the outlet• Check the house fuse/circuit breaker box and replace thefuse or reset the breaker• The unit turns off automatically when either conditionoccurs. Change to a lower setting or empty the bucket andreplace properly• The bucket must be in place and securely seated for theunit to operate.• There is a protective time delay (up to 3 minutes) to pre-vent tripping of the compressor overload. For this reason,the unit may not start normally for 3 minutes after it isturned back on.Dehumidifi er doesnot dry the air as itshould• Did not allow enough timeto remove the moisture• Airflow is restricted• Dirty filter• The humidity control maynot be set low enough• Doors and windows maynot be closed tightly• Clothes dryer may be blow-ing moisture-laden air intothe room• Room temperature is toolow• When first installed, allow at least 24 hours to maintain thedesired dryness• Make sure there are no curtains, blinds or furniture block-ing the front or back of the dehumidifier. See the “Location”section.• See the “Air filter” section• For drier air, press the button and set to a lower per-cent value (%)• Check that all doors, windows and other openings aresecurely closed• Install the dehumidifier away from the dryer. The dryershould be vented to the outside.• Moisture removal is best at higher room temperatures.Lower room temperatures will reduce the moisture removalrate. Frost will usually disappear within 60 min-utes.
