Set the control location to Local [1].Local/remote operation = Local [1] Par. 002Set the motor speed by adjusting the Local refer-enceLocal reference Parameter 003Motor startPress [Start] to start the motor. Set the motor speed byadjusting parameter 003 Local reference.Check whether the direction of rotation of the motorshaft is clockwise. If not, exchange any two phases onthe motor cable. Press [STOP/RESET] to stop the mo-tor. Press [QUICK MENU] to return to display mode.(QUICK MENU] + [+] keys must be pressed simulta-neously to give access to all parameters.Safety regulationsThe voltage of the frequency convertercan be fatal whenever it is connected tomains. Incorrect installation of the motoror the frequency converter may lead todamage to the equipment, serious per-sonal injury or death.Consequently, the provisions of this Quick Setup, aswell as national and local rules and safety regulations, must be complied with.Touching the electrical parts may be fatal, even afterthe equipment has been disconnected from mains:wait at least 4 min.1. The mains supply to the frequency convertermust be disconnected if repair work is to becarried out.2. The [STOP/RESET] key on the control panelof the frequency converter does not discon-nect the mains supply and is thus not to beused as a safety switch.3. Correct protective earthing of the unit mustbe established, the user must be protectedagainst supply voltage, and the motor mustbe protected against overload in accordancewith applicable national and local regulations.4. The earth leakage current is higher than 3.5mA.5. Protection against motor overload is not in-cluded in the factory setting. If this function isrequired, set parameter 128 Motor thermalprotection to data value ETR Trip or ETRWarning.6. Check that the mains supply has been dis-connected before removing the motor andmains plugs.Warning against unintended startThe motor can be brought to a stop bymeans of digital commands, bus com-mands, references or local stop, while thefrequency converter is connected tomains. If personal safety considerationsmake it necessary to ensure that no unin-tended start occurs, these stops are notsufficient. While parameters are being programmed, the motor may start. Consequently, thestop key [STOP/RESET] must always beactivated, following which data can bemodified.A motor that has been stopped may startif faults occur in the electronics of the fre-quency converter, or if a temporary over-load, a fault in the supply mains or a faultin the motor connection ceases.NB!Indicates something to be noted by thereader.Indicates a general warning.Indicates a high-voltage warning.VLT® 2800 Series4 MG.27.A2.02 - VLT ® is a registered Danfoss trademark
