13MG.10.P2.22 - VLT is a registered Danfoss trademarkStatus LEDs The Modbus RTU option card has two LEDs.One LED is used as a status for Modbus RTUcommunications and the other as a statusfor VLT 6000 drive communications. BothLEDs use the same communicationspatterns. On power up, each LED state isflashed on for 250 milliseconds (Red, Green,Orange, Off). The VLT 6000 LED powers upfirst, then the Modbus LED. After power up,the following are the only valid states:• Flashing Green (1 Hz): Communicationsonline (VLT 6000 LED) or receiving data(Modbus LED)• Flashing Red (1 Hz): Communicationstime out• Solid Red: Fault, communications haltedOption CardOperabilityLoop BackTestA loop back test to confirm Modbus RTUoption card operability can be performed. Theoption card must be removed from theadjustable frequency drive to gain access tothe 9-input dip switch for baud rate and parityand to rewire the option card connectors.Ensure that power has beenremoved from adjustable fre-quency drive for a minimum of14 minutes to allow voltage todissipate.• Remove the option card in accordancewith the procedures described in theinstallation section of this manual.• Set the dip switch positions in accordancewith the table below.SW1 SW2 SW3 SW4 SW5 SW6 SW7 SW8 SW9ON ON ON OFF OFF ON ON ON ONDANGER!• Remove all wiring from both the 6-pinoption card connector and the 3-pinEIA-485 connector.• Wire the 6-pin option card connector tothe 3-pin EIA-485 connector as describedbelow.• Apply power to the unit. After the normal status LED check atpower-up (see Status LEDs), the loop backtest sets both LEDs to orange for a successfultest or red if the test fails. The orange or redindicator lasts around 10-15 seconds. TheLEDs will then flash red or greencommunication indications.6-Pin Connector EIA-485 ConnectorPin 2 toPin 3 toPin 4 toPin 3Pin 2Pin 1Loop Back Test Switch PositionsVLT 6000 LEDModbus LED3-Pin EIA-485 Connector
