The humid air isdrawn into the unit by a fan. When passing through the evaporator the air is cooleddown to below dew point and water vapour is condensed into water, which is drainedaway. The now dry air is then passed over the condenser coil where the air is heated. Asa result of the released evaporator heat and the working energy of the compressor be-ing turned into heat energy, more heat is returned to the air than was previously ex-tracted. This extra heat corresponds to an approximate increase in temperature of 5 °C.The repeated circulation of air through the unit reduces the relative humidity, givingvery rapid but gentle drying.Air flow This illustrates the air flow:Built in hygrostat The dehumidifier is controlledby a built-in hygrostat that isset to approx. 60 % RH. Whenthe hygrostat registers a rela-tive humidity of more than60 %RH, the compressor andthe fan automatically switch onand the dehumidifier starts todehumidify.Note! If the air hu-midity is below 60 %RH, theunit will not start when thepower is connectedContinued overleafWarmer anddehumidified airWarm humid air
