INTRODUCTION311.3 MODEL DESCRIPTIONThe DS8100A scanner is available in versions that differ depending on the interfaceconnection, the optical resolution and on the optic version:DS8100A - X X X XOptic Version:0 = LinearOptical Resolution:0 = Low resolution1 = Medium resolutionCommunication Type:0 = Standard version1 = Ethernet version 2 = High resolution3 = Very High resolution5 = Oscillating mirrorLaser Number:2 = Double laser3 = Triple laser1.3.1 Oscillating Mirror ModelsOscillating mirror models are used when coverage of a large reading area is required, mainlyin picket fence applications. The oscillating mirror is placed in front of the reading aperture of the DS8100A scanner todeflect the laser beam. As the mirror moves, this sweeping function of the laser beam allowsthe coverage of a larger area to locate the barcodes. The code can also be reconstructed asthe beam sweeps over it.The aperture angle is symmetrical and the scan line perpendicular to the scanner is at 0° asshown in the figure below.0°+25°-25°Figure 1- Oscillating Mirror Reference AngleBy configuring the oscillating speed up to the maximum value of 19 Hz, raster emulation canbe performed for reading fast moving objects.Hz Max.
