During this phase normal operations are suspended. Twobasic conditions must be met before the device is ready, the correct USB driver must beloaded and sufficient power must be supplied to the reader.1. For all systems, the correct USB driver for the defaultUSB-KBD interface is included in the Host OperatingSystem and will either be loaded automatically or will besuggested by the O.S. and should therefore be selectedfrom the dialog box (the first time only).Connect device toHostSelect desired USBinterface code(USB-KBD is default)Read test codes.Device is READYLoad drivers(if requested)Load drivers(if requested)reader LED blinksreader LED off - BEEP OKFirst Start-Up12Normally the Host supplies sufficient power to thedevice and the start-up phase ends correctly. (Thereader's LED stops blinking and the reader emits thebeep OK signal).In rare cases, if the Host does not supply sufficientpower to the device, a dialog box will appear on the Hostand the device will be blocked (the reader's LEDcontinues blinking). In this case, disconnect the USBdevice cable at the Host (the reader's LED stopsblinking), and then try a different USB port as indicatedby the Operating System message. (The device emits thebeep OK signal. You can now read codes).2. At this point you can read the USB interface configuration code according to yourapplication. Load drivers from the O.S. (if requested). When configuring the USB-COMinterface, the relevant files and drivers must be installed from the USB Device Installationsoftware, which can be downloaded from the web page http://www.scanning.datalogic.com.The device is ready. Successive start-ups will automatically recognize the previously loadeddrivers.
