Turn off the engine. Remove the vent cap and dispose ofthe o-ring. Clean the threads of the vent cap and on thetop of the cover. Set the vent cap aside.3. Open the drain valve by turning one to one and a half rev-olutions and drain the fuel completely from the unit, thenclose the drain valve.1-1.5x 1-1.5xFirst Generation Drain Second Generation Drain4. Using the Collar Wrench, loosen the collar.5. Remove the clear cover and collar from the Diesel Pro.Discard the cover o-ring and install a new o-ring (sup-plied with the filter) on the cover. Clean the threads onthe collar and the body of the Diesel Pro.6. Install the new o-ring on vent cap (supplied with thefilter).7. Remove the filter element from the Diesel Pro by pullingupward.8. Install the new filter element. Position the filter elementso the key is lined up with the keyway on the separatorplate of the housing. Use the arrow on the top of theendplate to align the filter. Ensure the filter element isfully seated by firmly pushing on the endplate. The filtershould not rotate freely.KeyEndplateKeywayArrowSeparator plate of the housing9. After checking to make sure the new o-ring seal is seatedcorrectly on the base of the cover, install the cover andcollar. Apply downward pressure on the top of the coverand rotate the collar until contact.10. Use a DAVCO wrench if necessary to tighten 3 additionalribs.12311. Prime the unit by filling the clear cover with clean dieselfuel until it reaches the top of the filter.12. Install the vent cap. Tighten the vent cap by hand until itclicks.13. Start the engine and run for one minute. Slowly openthe vent cap and allow the fuel to drop to about one inchabove the collar.14. Tighten the vent cap by hand until it clicks.
