FUEL PRO® 485TECHNICAL MANUAL®F1485 REV BT e c h n o l o g y , L L C11DAVCO Technology, LLC www davco com800-328-26111600 Woodland Drive, Saline, MI 48176-1629DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES - CHECK VALVE AND HEATER TESTINGCheck Valve Diagnostics1 To test for proper check valve operation, remove the fuelinlet hose and open the vent cap Fuel should not flowout of the Fuel Pro, although a slight seepage of fuel isnormal If fuel drains back to the fuel tank, remove thecheck valve assembly at the fuel inlet fitting2 Open the vent cap Open the drain valve by turning one toone and a half revolutions Drain the Fuel Pro completelyClose the drain valve3 Use a back-up wrench to hold the check valve body andremove the fuel hose from the inlet of the Fuel Pro4 Remove and disassemble the check valve assembly5 Clean and inspect the check valve body Replace thecheck valve body if any cuts, grooves or nicks are evidentor if the ball seat is not smooth6 Inspect the check valve spring and spring retainer If thespring or spring retainer is broken or if the check ballhas groves, nicks or is out of round, replace with a checkvalve service kit Otherwise, clean and reassemble thecheck valve assembly The spring retainer snaps into agroove in the check-valve body7 Replace the check valve assembly into the body andtorque to 30-55 ft-lb8 Connect the fuel inlet hose, using liquid or paste typethread sealant9 Prime the fuel system, start the engine and check for anyfuel leaksPTC Pre-heater/Overnight HeaterTesting ProceduresE Do not energize pre-heater/heater outside of theDiesel Pro. Caution!
