We suggest trying different brands ofcoffee to find the one most suitable to your taste.• Models with glass carafe: close the frontaldoor and place the closed glass carafe on thenon stick warming plate (fig. 6).Models with thermal carafe: Before placingthe carafe on the plate, make sure the lid is clo-sed (fig. 7).• Models with electronic control panel: you canenhance the flavor of your coffee by pressingthe AROMA button. This feature activates aunique brewing process, slowly releasingwater into the filter basket; saturating coffeegrounds a little at a time extracting the best fla-vor and aroma from your coffee. To activate,press the AROMA button; the light above thebutton will illuminate. Press the button again toturn the selection off. It is recommended to usethe aroma button if not brewing a whole cara-fe of coffee.Press the ON/AUTO/OFF button (fig. 8). Thered light indicates that the coffee maker is inoperation and the display shows “BREW”.• Models with single switch: Press the"ON/OFF” switch (fig. 9). The indicator lighton the switch indicates that the coffee maker isin operation.• The coffee will begin to emerge after a fewseconds. It is completely normal for theappliance to release a little steam while thecoffee is brewing.• In models with glass carafe, if you leave theappliance switched on after brewing is fini-shed, the non-stick warming plate will keep thecoffee at the ideal temperature. The unit auto-matically shuts off after two hours.• Models with thermal carafe: To pour the cof-fee, turn the lid to the position shown in (fig.10). To completely remove the lid from the cara-fe, turn it to the position shown in (fig. 11).The appliance switches automatically off afterbrewing cycle.Important: Removing the carafe before the machi-ne has finished producing the coffee does notinterrupt the brewing process, but simply stops theflow of coffee into the carafe. If you want to pourout a little coffee before brewing is completed, doso as quickly as possible to avoid coffee overflow.PROGRAMMING THE AUTOMATIC START(models with electronic control panel only)Make sure that the time is set correctly.To program the time to start coffee preparation:• Press the SET TIMER button and keep it depres-sed until you reach the desired switch-on time.• Then release the SET TIMER button. The timewill flash for a few seconds until set: then thedisplay will show the current hour.ACTIVATING THE TIMERAfter you have:- set the time for switch-on as described in theprevious section;- prepare the machine for making coffee. Pressthe ON/AUTO/OFF button quickly twice (fig.12). The ON/AUTO indicator light changes togreen indicating the coffee maker is in opera-tion: the display shows AUTO.CLEANING AND MAINTENANCEBefore carrying out any cleaning operations, swit-ch the appliance off, unplug it from the poweroutlet, and let it cool down.1. Do not use solvents or abrasive detergents to cleanthe appliance. A soft damp cloth is sufficient.2.
