These deposits may affect thecorrect operation of the appliance.The coffee urn should be descaled every 50 cyclesTo descale, use one of the commercially availablescale removers for this type of appliance and fol-low the instructions on the package.1. Wipe outside with a soft damp cloth only. Donot use solvents or abrasive detergents.2. Wash the inside of the coffee urn with warmwater and a mild detergent. Do not immersethe base or the body of the urn in water: it isan electrical appliance.3. The cover, filter basket, and pump tube may bewashed in the dishwasher. Make sure the bot-tom of the pump tube is clean. If necessary,hold it under running water or use a toothpickto remove any coffee grounds.4. Store the coffee urn with the cover off.TIPS1. Before making coffee the first time, operatethe coffee urn without using ground coffee toremove any dust residues from inside theappliance.2. To reheat the coffee, remove the pump tubeand filter basket, replace the cover and plugthe unit in. The coffee will be hot in 20 to 60minutes, depending on the amount of coffeeleft. Do not reheat if less than 20 cups are leftin the coffee urn.3. The appliancecomes with asliding tray forthe drip tray orcup (fig. 4).This preventscoffee fromdripping ontothe floor orcountertop.4.
