7IntroductionInstructions for useThank you for choosing this cofee machine. To get thevery best out of your new cofee machine it is advisableto read these instructions before using the appliance.This is the only way to ensure optimum results and ma-ximum safety.The manufacturer is not liable for damage deriving fromthe failure to comply with the user instructions.Please Note:Keep these instructions carefully. If the appliance shouldbe transferred to other persons, these instructions mustaccompany it.Check after transportAfter the packaging has been removed, check theintegrity of the appliance and the presence of allaccessories.Do not use the appliance in the presence of obviousdamage. Contact the De’Longhi Customer Servicesdepartment, please see enclosed lealet.Installing the applianceAttention!The following safety measures must be complied withwhen installing the appliance:• The appliance could be damaged by the penetrationof water.Do not position the appliance near to water taps orsinks.• The appliance could be damaged if the water itcontains freezes. Do not install the appliance in aroom where the temperature can fall below freezingpoint.• Position the power supply cable in a way that itcannot be damaged by sharp edges or by contactwith hot surfaces.Connecting the applianceAttention!Make sure that the electric mains voltage correspondswith that indicated on the rating plate on the base of theappliance.Only connect the appliance to a correctly installed socketwith a minimum rating of 10A and correctly earthed.In the case of incompatibility between the socket andthe plug on the appliance, have the plug replaced by aqualiied technician.• The power supply cable on this appliance mustnever be replaced by the user as special tools areneeded for this operation. Contact an After-SalesCentre authorised by the manufacturer if the cableis damaged or must be replaced, in order to avoid allrisks. Please refer to enclosed guarantee lealet fordetails.Filling the water tank1. Open the water tank lid (ig. 1) and then lift the tankto remove it (ig. 2).2. Fill the tank with fresh water but do not pass MAXlevel (ig. 3). Re-position the tank by pressing itlightly in a way to open the valve situated on thebase of the tank itself.3. Alternatively, do not remove the tank, just ill it bypouring in water from a jug, be careful of splashesAttention!Do not operate the appliance without water in the tankand always ill it when the water is a few centimetresfrom the bottom.Please Note: it is normal to ind water in thecompartment under the tank; dry using a clean sponge.
