139.3 Customising the "my coffee" quantityThe appliance is set by default to automatically deliver 1,01fl.oz. / 30ml of "my coffee". To modify this quantity, proceed asfollows:1. Place a cup under the coffee spouts (A13) (fig. 9);2. Turn the selection dial (B2) (fig. 7) until "MY COFFEE" isdisplayed;3. Press and hold the button (B7) (fig. 10) until themessage "1 MY COFFEE Program quantity" appears on thedisplay (B1) and coffee delivery begins. Then release thebutton;4. As soon as the coffee in the cup reaches the required level,press the button (fig. 10) again.The quantity of coffee in the cup has now been programmed.9.4 Adjusting the coffee millThe coffee mill is set by default to prepare coffee correctly andshould not require regulating initially.However, if after making the first few coffees you find that thecoffee is either too weak and not creamy enough or delivery istoo slow (a drop at a time), this can be corrected by adjustingthe grinding adjustment dial (A2) (fig. 11).Please note:The grinding adjustment dial must only be turned when thecoffee mill is in operation.If the coffee is delivered too slowly or notat all, turn one click clockwise towards 7.For fuller bodied creamier coffee, turnone click anticlockwise towards 1 (donot turn more than one click at a timeotherwise the coffee could be delivereda drop at a time).These adjustments will only be evident after at least 2 cups ofcoffee have been delivered. If this adjustment does not obtainthe desired result, turn the dial another click.9.5 Tips for a hotter coffeeFor hotter coffee, you should:• perform a rinse cycle before delivery by pressing thebutton (B5), as described in section “9. making coffee”;• warm the cups with hot water using the hot water function(see section “11. Hot water”);• select the "high" coffee temperature in the menu (see sec-tion “7.8 Setting the temperature”).9.6 Making coffee using coffee beansImportant!Do not use caramelised or candied coffee beans as they couldstick to the coffee mill and make it unusable.1. Fill the container (A7) (fig. 12) with coffee beans;2. Place under the coffee spouts (A13):- 1 cup, if you want to make 1 coffee (fig. 9);- 2 cups if you want 2 coffees.3. Lower the spouts as near as possible to the cup. This makesa creamier coffee (fig. 13);4. Press the button corresponding to the number of coffeesrequired (1 cup B7 or 2 cups B8) (figs. 10 and14);5. Preparation begins. The amount of coffee selected appearson the display (B1) together with a progress bar whichgradually fills as preparation progresses.Please note:• While the machine is making coffee, delivery can be inter-rupted at any moment by pressing any button.• At the end of delivery, to increase the quantity of coffee inthe cup, just press and hold (within 3 seconds) one of thecoffee buttons ( or ).Once the coffee has been made, the appliance is ready to makethe next drink.Please note:• Various alarm messages could be displayed while usingthe appliance (FILL TANK, EMPTY GROUNDS CONTAINER,ETC.). Their meaning is explained in section “17. Displayedmessages”.• For hotter coffee, see section “9.5 Tips for a hotter coffee”.• If the coffee is delivered a drop at a time, too weak and notcreamy enough or too cold, read the tips in section “18.Troubleshooting”.9.7 Making coffee using pre-ground coffeeImportant!• Never add pre-ground coffee when the machine is off or itcould spread through the inside of the machine and dirtyit. This could damage the appliance.• Never use more than 1 levelmeasure (C2) or it could dirty theinside of the coffee machine orblock the funnel (A6).Please note:If you use pre-ground coffee, you can only make one cup ofcoffee at a time.1. Press the button (B6) (fig. 8) until "Pre-ground"appears on the display (B1).2. Make sure the funnel is not blocked, then add one levelmeasure of pre-ground coffee (fig. 15).3. Place a cup under the coffee spouts (A13) (fig. 9).
